Since the old thread was lost in the attack/Backup I thought I'd start the thread over again. After a really painful rage headache inducing transation with a resller on Amazon I used to use alot, I am not looking for places to get my Old school import fix, Saturn mostly but soon Mega Drive/Super Famicom and Famicom. NCSX and Play-asia should sastify my PS3/PS4 and Vita (when I get a PS4 and Vita) needs but older stuff I'm going to need a guy. Anyways since my Debit Cards once again allow for international transactions, It's all good in the hood if the seller is located in Japan, but just for "Not waiting a month's sake" US based sellers are preferred.
I buy most of my imports from HERE. The items for sale tend to be priced decently and shipping is free ($5 with tracking). The seller lives in Japan and items take slightly over 1 week to arrive, which I believe was something you disliked. The items are securely wrapped in bubble wrap and communication is fairly decent. I am not sure this is the seller for you, but I thought I would share where I buy my imports anyway.
hit japan, and Japan Game Stock. You NEED to check out JGS. They have a LOT of deals with buy 3 get 4th free, etc. SUPER fair prices on EVERYTHING.
YHJ for me. I avoid eBay now since sellers are complete fuckwits with their prices "It's a Japanese game?! Let's add $50 on top of the original price" Ever since I've been buying from YHJ I've saved so much money and even with EMS shipping.
But but but 100 yen bin! Haha, always see tourists dive in and buy a bunch or crap. Best thing I ever saw was a 300 yen bin full of new neo geo AES carts. I have enough samurai shodowns to build a fort.
Sounds like me. If space and money allowed I'd buy Japanese games in regular enough bulk to attract a bargain basement supplier who can offer prices worthy of how they look.
Sometimes those bargan bins are fantastic for picking up great deals. Manga Soko had a SFC one with any 2 games for 500 yen. It was filled with good stuff too. After one day the good stuff was gone and only crap left. But yeah, when I lived in Tokyo in the late 90's I would often see visitors raiding the bargan bins buying alsort of shit. They buyers were mostly French too. man, those French guys sure love to buy retro.
Yes we do ;p the import scene was huge in France back in the 90s most of the stores have gone now I hardly bought any PAL games in those days, I remember buying 1941 on Supergrafx for £20 new and there was a stack of them. Obviously I sold it on... Japan is the mecca for retro games, but we did have semi-official releases of anything PC Engine and NeoGeo back in the days
Yeah, I remember reading in CV&G that the PC Engine was actually released as a PAL / SECAM unit in France. Is this true? I know France sure had a lot of anime way before the English speaking countries did.
Yes very true a company Sodipeng was set up in France to do just that, they had an agreement with Nec in Japan, read here http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=fr&tl=en&u=http://www.scrolling.fr/la-pc-engine-en-france and here http://www.retroblog.fr/tag/sodipeng/ I had 2 PC Engine that were PAL/SECAM, a coregrafx and a supergrafx both sold on now but I still got a few games with the french manual
Wouldn't US games be your imports? A shame you don't have your store anymore I was so set to clean you out not long ago.
If anyone needs my website again here's the link: http://stores.ebay.com/hitjapanvideogamesandanime/pages/store-serch-keyword__W0QQ_modeZpreview
Good point. I actually own more imports than japanese 360 games I think. I buy a lot of them from local stores though. The 360 scene is shit in Japan so even stores stock asian imports. I also buy a lot of Asian imports from Amazon Japan. They stock them all. The store was too much work. I'm making more money just selling Framemeister units than what I did from the whole store. It's not like I even have a big mark up on the Framemeister, I just sell so many of them. In August I sold 63 units !! And not one single complaint. People love the Framemeister.
A recent issue of OXM US talked about the Japanese Scene for the 360. While it's install base is only just over a million the Japanese 360 owners are passionate. J360 has a few games that are PS3 exclusive here so the 360 in Japan is slightly better than the US 360. I had no idea you were selling Framemeisters. If I get a new TV soon I'll be sending you a message.
