Hello everyone :icon_bigg Most of you know now that the computer store chain CompUSA is closing. Well I went there and and I asked if I could buy their Xbox 360 Kiosk "fixture". They said they are property of Microsoft and they are already scheduled to be picked up. Is there anyway I can buy one from Microsoft or something? How would i go about obtaining one? Because I see the older generation kiosks such as N64, PS2, and Xbox's go on ebay and craigslist so how does that work? Also how much would they go for having a 360 with the hard drive, a small samsung HDTV, 2 wired controllers mounted to it along with a guitar, the vision camera, and of course the whole stand?(would I be able to get it without the 360, becuase I already have one.) I hope i'm posting in the right part of the forum site. Thanks for helping.
The demo units are generally owned by Microsoft, the units do contain a box of tricks which prohibits the machine from going to the top menu if a disc is in the drive, it allows you to reset the machine with a button on the front, and acts as a USB hub too. It also allows reading and writing to a external memory card slot and gives two headphone ports. People think the demo machines are special because of this but they are normal retail machines just missing the rubber feet so they can be secured to a base. The demo units may or may not have lighiting for the Xbox 360 logo at the top.
Did you ever take any pictures of the kiosk box all connected up Jamtex? I`m interested in the memory card cable as it`s the only lead I don`t have for my unit.
so they're property of microsoft, but how would i get one? do you guys have tips on where or who to talk to? And how much it would cost me to get one?
Drussian : I did, but the memory card I had them on decided to die.:crying: As for getting a unit I would wait until the Xbox 360 is dead then they will be easier to get, as I know that Microsoft Xbox Hong Kong (yes a branch of Microsoft) bought a few from Microsoft America and they told me they cost $2000 each before shipping (with TV but without backlights or xbox) unless you offer bill the burglar some money to steal you one...
...Signed, Bill the Burglar lol <just kidding> Wished I was in the US, I'd take you up on that, but not for $2k
