I've been interested in picking up new controller types for my MAS Supernova for a while now and don't know where to buy them after MAS went defunct. I didn't even know where to buy them back when they were still in business since I saw nothing of the sort on their website. Is there a website that caters to Supernova owners & builds various controls other than the control panels that already come with it (the 8-way joystick with coin, start, and 6 game buttons)? I'm interested in controllers that are spinner-based, driving-based, and trackball-based. I especially want one where the joystick is rotational so I can use it to play shooting games like Time Soldiers, Cal. 50, and others that have rotational controls. I also interested in where I can get the following: 1. A 10 pin adapter cable so I can use buttons 4-6 on my control panel (the Supernova has a cable that has connects to a 7 pin device and the documentation says that it connects with a 10 pin adapter cable, but I've never seen one) 2. Whatever is needed to allow the Supernova to support 4 players (which I read about somewhere on the internet yesterday) 3. An adapter that will allow me to connect the Supernova to the TV card of my PC & take screenshots that don't get cut off (since the screenshots sometimes get partly cut off)
It's just a SuperGun like all the rest. It's not that hard to figure it out. Anything non-jamma standard doesn't connect to the SuperNova anyway. That means extra button harnesses like Player 3&4, TrackBall and Analog Controllers, and Buttons 4,5,6 etc. These just connect to the PCB. No idea if anyone ever made or sold these types of controllers for use with real arcade games though. If your screenshots get cut off I'm guessing it's an issue with your TV card itself or the encoder that encodes the RGB signal maybe.
It's too bad MAS Systems went out of business. When did that happen? Recently? I guess sales of arcade products isn't what it used to be.
i sent my stick for repir 2x. 1st time it took like ~2 weeks. 2nd time it took like 5 months. on one hand i appreciate them fixing it for free and having the balls (or eggs or w/e because i always talked to a woman) to tell me they lost it for an entire summer. on the other hand, 5 months isn't good business.
