    Hello,

So I'm off to Miami in a few days for business and leisure, weather forecast sucks a lot mainly thunderstorms, so I figured I will have some time to shop in my free time after intensive clothes shopping sessions with the Mrs :smt100

Is there any good (retro) videogame shops in the area?

    Many thanks

    Hum...

Well considering the extensive amount of answers before my trips, I figured Miami sucks for (retro)games, unfortunately it turned out to be true!!!

I went in a few game places in Miami and there was nothing really interesting :-( apart from old PSX games...not even a Final Fantasy Tactics or Castlevania not even Ys 6 on the PSP who was supposed to be released in time for my arrival...
Orlando turned out to be the same...

So Florida doesn't seem to be a great place for gaming. Well it still is very beautiful and hot 30-35 degrees (celsius) in October is very pleasant I must say and I got to spend some quality with my Fiancee which we deserved both after a tough year. So Florida is definitely on my go back places for holidays list!!!

In replacement for gaming spending session I bought for myself (after intensive negotiation sessions, 2 hours of non talking Fiancee and a smoking credit card  ) a 7 strings Ibanez guitar, I wanted one for so long and the US has much better prices and choice than the UK!!! Guitar Center the store I usually go in the US to buy gear is very keen to negotiate prices and once again I got a good deal from them.

    She is a beauty:

I love shopping for videogames, but you did the right thing. While I usually go for the Strat, I have heard some awesome shredding done on an Ibanez.

That guitar is super sweet - don't let the old lady convince you otherwise.

Miami is a place to look at hotties while soaking the sun on the beach and go to night clubs at night. It is not a place to look for rare/retro videogames. You go to Japan for that.

Nice guitar, buy extra strings just incase.

Yeah you're absolutely for the sun, the beach and night clubs though I won't say anything about the hotties for my own good he he. My fiancee is already a hottie herself IMHO so I did not take much notice of other ones.

I think Japan too is the best for videogame since I'm mostly interested by jap releases.

I'll get some strings soon I think the one already on the guitar are not going to last very long...

Yeah I have a very crappy copy of strat (my first guitar) I'd love to get a real strat in the future (but don't tell my other half yet).

I had to bargain with her to get that baby, I will part with my Neogeo soon, but I never played with it and it's taking space in the lounge so no regrets and my psx dev kit and debugger. I recently started a Java course and let's face it I won't be programming games anytime soon on PSX, Java and PC sound more reasonable.

And she wants me to write songs for her, she's desperate to get one from one so that's part of the deal, more music (I love guitar) less videogames which is fine by me as long as I have a :prayer: pc engine and a megadrive :-D :-D :-D :-D

I'm now off (to try) to learn, the Dream Theater and Steve Vai songs I couldn't access without a 7 strings axe yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cheers
