Hey I have a question and though here is probably the best place to ask (since it relates to peoples personal collections).

Where are some of you people getting beta/alpha/review copys of games? Just wanting to know because the only place I know to find them are here and ebay from time to time.

Review copies for PAL DC, and worldwide PS1 and 2 are pretty easy to come by, but require a bit of creative searching on ebay

PAL DC review copies are known as "white Labels" since well, they have white labels ;)
for PS1 and 2 generally searching for promo within the correct categories can bring up a few results - you often have to select to search titles and descriptions though, which leads to lots of trawling through results until you find what you want.

Either who, it generally simply requires a bit of patience and a lot of time searching on ebay, and then you can find them.

EDIT: looks like for some reason their a fair bit harder to find on US ebay....

US White Labels don't exist, that might explain something ;-)

Knew about the white labels, but what about the PSX "black labels" which are sometimes floating around?

Ebay is a more costly way, you WILL pay more on Ebay, especially for unreleased stuff. Getting them from someone "in the industry" is difficult. Companies keep track of who they send these things out to, and many people don't want to risk their jobs. On the other hand, there's also people who don't care. Getting them from other collectors is also a good way, although most people don't sell/trade unless it's for something good. If you want some items, you can e-mail me (insidyr at cs dot com) as I do have some laying around.

The secret is that most of the people who have them are... tada! reviewers!
