Why is it I can only edit my topics in certain forums? I'm sure I could edit my posts in Off Topic before....
Hmm, very odd. Us mods have the edit button in all sections of the board. Is anyone (Who's not a mod) having this problem? Yakumo
Seems fine for me. I can apparently edit my posts in the off-topic forum, as well as in two other forums I tried. By that I mean the "edit" button appears on my posts and clicking it presents me with a textarea.
Yeah, no "Edit" for me in General Gaming. But the button shows in the marketplace. Maybe this happened after the forum backup.
Just to clarify you shouldnt have the edit button on this forum. http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=145481&postcount=1
I just posted a new reply in General Gaming and found I couldn't edit the post to add the carriage returns that the quick reply function eats. The posting rules thing in the lower left corner says I 'may not' edit posts in all the forums I've tried so far.
There was an error in permissions. This is the only forum where editing is not possible. Somehow there was lapse in the rules for this area, and now it is back to "normal" I suggest you clear your cookies.
I did that, and there's no change. The problem is in the ASSEMbler forums section (e.g. Rare, General, Off Topic etc.). ALL forums in here have permissions set to may not edit. This was not the case the other day. The only other forum I can't edit, as Paulo said, is Site News.
I tried another browser that I've never used for the site before (so no cookies to start with). It did the same thing. Has to be a permissions issue. Odd that it's only just happened!
That's what I did! And as I tried FireFox instead of IE (I never log into the forums on FireFox - basically only have it for testing sites as I make them) and got the same issue, it seems more likely to be the permissions. Odd one, that!!
