Just picked up an unboxed Multimega in AgeUK in Brighton. Was listed as a Personal CD player, and I managed to get it for £3!!!!! That's right. Three British Pounds. It works great as far as I can tell, although I only have master system pads here and a copy of Sega Arcade Classics 5-1 on CD to test it with, no carts, they are all in storage until I complete my move this month.

It has the AC adapter, but no control pads. Were the control pads the same as the UK/Europe 6 button pads or are they different?

edit: (I mean aesthetically also). I have 2 Genuine 6 button pads but they have the blue start and mode buttons on them, and a switch. Got them from GAME in the Palisades in Birmingham UK around 1993-4?, the ones in the multimega pics I could find look a lot different. Almost like baby gen 1 saturn pads?

My 6 button pads look like this:

Those are indeed the correct six button controllers - the MK-1653 (European versions had a red start button... US was grey and Japan was blue, but a different model number). The one with a turbo switch is the Brazilian Mega Drive 3 controller, MK-1470.

That's a very strange looking 6-button controller. It looks like the 3-button one.

    Aka hideous ;)

They also did a version without the turbo switch and just a start button... then went back to the proper 6 button controller!

I think it's actually pretty great, it's a much bigger controller than the regular 6-button and fits my hands better. :p I might have to pick one up for my LaserActive.

Note it isn't the only controller with that model number... you want the Brazilian one ;)

Yeah it was a fantastic find, luckily AGE UK don't really do Games stuff, apart from the odd copy of Singstar and Fifa for PS2 in the DVD section. I only go in there because I'm on a music CD buying thing at the moment, and that shop has a really good selection of music.

I'll have to check out ebay for a couple of those pads. They are the ones I saw on the pic before, almost like Saturn.

Not sure about that to be honest. I still called it GAME even when it was the Disney Store :)

    (edit):

dUH! I meant the massive 3 level one in the Paviliions, not the Palisades. (Always get those 2 mixed up) You are right, the one that was on the ramp on the Palisades wasn't even an EB in 1993-94 probably.
anyway, the one I'm on about was there from at least 1990, was still Game in early late 1991 - early 1992, because I bought Magic Pockets from there for the Amiga, (had to queue up for 2 hours) because they had the Bitmap Bros there to sign copies. I got a Magic Pockets T Shirt and a Bomb the Bass CD too included.

I also seem to remember buying Ultima Underworld 2 there, so that puts it at at least 1993, maybe 1994?

I remember buying a bunch of copies of ultima online from EB, so that says at least 98. Dunno before that though
