Hi Everyone: I am saving a money to purchase these machine but also prepare money for HDTV. Does anyone can give me suggestion which HDTV is good? It makes me feel headache because I am using RGB monitor right now but next generation console do not support RGB (21 pin) . I must purchase HDTC to enjoy the best graphic. Thank You
This topic has already been covered. But I will rehash. Large over 36 inch , only choice is DLP, no burn in. Plasma and lcd burn in. Plasma loses 50% brightness in 4 years. LCD gets dead pixels and has slow slow response time, you'll get motion blur unless the lcd you are buying is above $15,000. Under 36, get a HD DLP, or better yet a wide tube. Wide tube has superior field of view and brightness, and unlike DLP you don't have to be sitting in a "sweet spot" to get the correct level of quality. DLP and other forms of projection make the gaming experience for people on your left and right worse the further away they are from the center of the screen, be that horizontally or VERTICALLY, so if you have a tall buddy and a dlp, it sucks to be him. I have a sony wide tube (HD). It has a far superior phosphor layout than competitors, just look closely at the screens in the store while on, you'll see the sony's are smaller and less coarse. If you MUST get an lcd tv, get a samsung. Plasma, pioneer. Samsung has this triple comb and upscan in it that makes the picture so much better than any of the other lcds I looked at. The pioneer is well, stunning. If you can afford the "elite" that is.
Next generation doesn't support RGB? No chance, for one, that is mandatory by law in France (Vive la France! ), and widely used in Europe.
Assmbler you don't need a super expensive LCD tv, we have a 26" panasonic LCd in the living room which works perfectly for games, no ghosting blurring what so ever and it was 2600 euro's which is a lot but not the most extreme high range and it's HDTV compaitlble as well. Most 2000+ euro lcd tv's at least here in europe have the new faster 12-16ms screens which are very well suited for games speedwise, the only drawback is that lcd doesn't have true black and that dark colours can get a little mixed.
I think the "Plasmas loose quality over the years" is unfounded. Perhaps early ones did, but certainly not any more. Plasmas kick ass - wish I had one :-(
