To beat Kizuna Encounter, you'd probably be looking at a prototype AES cart. Magician Lord 2 or something. But if you happen to have a perfect condition 70's sitdown table PacMan or something, you'd be looking at a few grand..
I know a guy who has a perfect condition sit down Space Invaders table ^_^ He won't let anyone use it but himself though But hey, I would probably do the same if I were him.
Pacman is 1980 by the way and mint original tables are like $300. Theres nothing people are willing to pay more for than Neo Geo prototypes, Neo Geo fans are a lot of the time foolish extremists who'd sell their own child for an obscure inhouse something.

Many rare game are in fact kinda crappy,so you better get happy with good games which don't cost a fortune instead of paying insane prices for games that just aren't worth that much money.
Yeah, there's a reason most games are rare.... the publisher realizes it's a turd and doesn't print that many. I remember when Circus Lido got $3000+, then Amazon.co.jp for some strange reason got boxes of them.

Oh, you don't know 0000.1% of the laughable aspect of the story, then : Circus Lido was originally sold in libraries. A few years later, it became impossible to find. So once every ten months, when a Circus Lido finally appeared in the games section of japanese auctions' websites, worldwide NEC addicts spent zillions trying to get the game. Then finally, one day, some guy noticed that the game could get acquired really easily and for a pretty cheap price... if you looked at the books section instead (since it was sold in libraries). DUH.
Mmmm, the Sega R360. I got stuck upside down in one of those in Sega World, in the Trocadero. Sat there for 10mins, waiting to be unstuck...
Actually, I knew 100% of that story, but it was pretty nice to relive it. One of the guys that noticed it (or someone within a few degress of him) posted on a Japanese PC-Engine mail list I was on. I got the head start on most of the west, but they apprently had plenty of copies. The funniest part about the story is Media Land and Trader had copies of these (no doubt, sold to them by someone that picked them up off of Amazon) on their shelves. 150,000, 100,000, 50,000, 30,000 eventually down to 5,000 yen. I'm sure they bit the bullet.

Kizuna Encounter isn't a prototype... it WAS released in Europe. The last copy actually sold for more than $10,000... so I guess the novelty of finding a new one is wearing off! I remember the Atari 2700 going for thousands of dollars. How about a virtuality machine? Those weren't cheap.. I have a sales brochure somewhere! They were $60,000 but you could pick one up in 1996 for about $20,000.
