    Hi all

I currently have a Sega Multi-Mega (CD-X) and this unit is PAL. Its working perfectly my Everdrive X7 works on it and I can play original games and it will play Cdr's but it is a bit loud.

I also own an Asian Mega Drive (PAL) found it at a car boot sale and paid £2.50 for it with no power supply or av cables but it did have a controller.

I've heard the Multi-Mega isn't very reliable at reading Cdr's. Should I trade in my unit and get an original Mega CD? My CEX (second hand games shop) has a Mega CD 1st gen and a Mega CD 2nd gen (without the adaptor) and a 32X in stock. The multi-Mega will give me enough trade in value to get either MegaCD unit with the 32x.

Or should I keep the Multi-Mega,

Why would you ever trade the multi mega in at such a place, they give you peanuts usually.
I would sell the multi mega on this forum or ebay (for higher price) and take that money to buy a cheap Sega/Mega CD & 32X, unless CEX is selling them cheap compared to ebay prices?

I know CEX give peanuts.. I worked for them and they even rip staff off, but they will give me £217 for the unit. As it is unboxed

    Mega CD 1 is £105
    Mega CD 2 is £68
    32X is £85

    Again these are unboxed

You should be able to fetch 250-300 for the CDX, try to sell it in the marketplace here.
With that money you can buy the Mega CD, 32X and keep some money in the pocket.

While I totally love how the Mega CD1 looks, the Mega CD2 is a much better buy if you are planning to actually play on it a lot. It's more reliable.

I just got myself an X'eye for 230 eur shipped, as I've heard they're the best in terms of maintaining and actually are pretty quiet with CD's. but if I had a multimega I wouldn't get rid of it.

There is also the Wondermega but I would not recommend that. It’s super rare and quite expensive. Technically the X’Eye is kind of a Wondermega.

id keep what you have, but if you want to get somthing to read Cd-r's, get a model 2 megaCD, Model 1's are known to be faulty.

I've had a Model 2 for 9 years now and never had a problem.
