Is there any way of telling an Xbox MoBo original region without having to wire it in and boot itup?

I.e can you just look at the board and tell if its UK/Europe, Jap NTSC or USA NTSC etc?

    Thanks

There's no 'physical' difference between regions.

What you can't get the xbox to boot.

Easiest way to physically determine anything without booting up or wiring in is the little power input sticker on the back. It'll identify whether the unit accepts 100-110v, 220-240v. Then have a look at the sticker underneath the console. You can become familiar with the various different bodies & safety marks on the labels. Having never owned a Japanese Xbox (other than a 360) I don't know whether it has different markings, but I know the UK & USA models did indeed.

If I still had my NTSC unit, I would put up a couple of the stickers for comparison and you'd see what I meant.

Of course, if the unit has been cracked open and the seals tampered with then it could be bloody anything inside the box!

sadly thre are NO stickers whatsoever on the underside. but it does have a 110V PSU...

hmm.. should i assume that its US and bother with trying to get it working?
