I have two babies both girls, one is 2 years old atm and as a gamer i always wanted my kid(s) to play Rayman for PS1 first. it was one of the earliest games i remember ever playing and being able to understand. Something about the funky character and environment i think they will like, almost like a cartoon character. after that i think some sonic would be good for her to experience. What games would you guys want your kids to play first and why? (that is if you want kids)
If I have a child, I'd start them the same way I started, Sonic 2. Admittedly I'll be cursing them to also have their entire gaming lives go downhill from there.
I started mine on Mario and sonic same as myself. Start them on 16 bit then progress up, that way they will apreciate games more.
Super Mario 64. Absolutely has to be first haha. Then of course Mario Kart Double Dash!! Once they reach the age where they're ready for more mature games, Silent Hill -> DOOM -> GTA IV.
"Daddy/Mommy, why do the games right after the Super Nintendo and Genesis look so ugly? Why can't they make pretty games like those had?"
haha their face will be priceless xD. i love what i read in here some kids will be lucky to experience some great games first!!
I'm tempted to start with Combat on the 2600 as it's two-player, one-button, and we can just mess about first without them getting confused or annoyed that they keep dying. Then gradually move chronologically forward. By the time they play Super Mario they'd be 7/8, the age I first played them, and I'd like to turn it all into a history lesson
awesome i never played anything on 2600 but from 2600 until now there mind will be blown away when they are 10 lol one of the older systems i have played was a vectrex i believe its called that was fun my cousin still has his too.
