Hi, I was wondering what the significance of the White Dreamcast Disk are. I see people around here ask about them and someone had some Nascar one. Are they rare? Sorry if this has already been posted, I looked but did not see it. Thanks.
Yeah, it's pretty much the prerelease review copies given, as Metal_4evr said, to members of the press and other reviewers in the UK. Most of the games aren't the final complete code, meaning the whitelabel can differ a tiny bit from the finished product. Overall, they are just a neat, and fairly easy-to-find unreleased collectable.
although it can throw up some suprises, a final bomberman online pal version exist only in white label form, and I wouldn't be suprised if there were others. Rich
You're right. They're only for Europe. In fact, SEGA of Europe started to regulate where that disc went but in the middle of the Dreamcast life they decided to leave more freedom to publishers and SEGA allowed them even to put their own stamp on discs. That's the reason because there're some European betas which don't come in White Disc format.
are you sure about that ???? its the first time I hear about bomberman online pal as a white lable ??? Do you know someone who has one ?
I don't wanna seem to be sceptical, but I doubt about a White Disc of "Bomberman On-line", taking in account that SEGA of Europe, after "Phantasy Star On-line", started to refuse any on-line game to be distributed here. In fact, "Outtriger" and "Daytona USA" came without on-line options because of that "sad" decision.
there was an ebay auction of it about a year ago, it was only £10 aswell but at the time i needed every penny I could get, and I can assure you it was a PAL white promo disk, is there a way to search the ebay archive? And the decision to remove online games from europe was also made in the us as daytona didn't have online options in the us neither.
