Didn't know SONY put out this one in white too~ Looks very tempting... Thing is I'm too broke to buy one from Korea... -__-;
if you've ever open a fat ps2, you would know that they didn't really do that much to create the pstwo, pretty much the same, psu and hdd slot are half the ps2 and they got rid off all the plastic around the drive.
Is this a SCPH-90000? I remember reading a while back that these would be sold for $99 USD. I guess that will never happen, because I still see the $129 USD figure in the gis chain store (best buy, circuit city etc.)
I don't think the latest model with the psu built in is out in the US yet though is it? I would hope that the PS2 would eventually hit that 99$ mark. Only problem is I hear the newest model doesn't work with the memory card hack. ='(
By next holiday season the PSTwo should be down 6 feet under though. Atleast now you could say that the PS2 has some miles left on it. But give it another year and I don't think anyone really will be considering it if they don't have it already. We'd be awfuly far into PS3 and Xbox 360's life cycle I think.
I just went to target and they do have the new PSTwo model in stock. At least I think they do. The box looks exactly like the one above, but it's black, and doesn't have the ridges on the sides like the standard slim PSTwo does. It's still same price, not $99.
you can get a used ps2 on gamestop for 70 bucks... make sure its bundled with a bba... then sell the bba on ebay for 50 , cheap ps2 .
Am I the only one who thinks the PStwo is actually crappier than the original model? The flip-top thing allows a lot of dust in. And applying pressure to the spindle to insert or remove a disc is a bad idea. It's not durable and will break shortly after the warranty period is over. Also, it does not improve upon the original model in build quality as the drive mechanics are still plastic instead of metal.
You made the HD-Loader adapter? That's really what it's for. Jeilong you aren't the only one. Ofcourse the PSTwo is shit. They do everything they can to reduce cost which means reducing quality. There is a certain range of Fat PS2 models that are probably best. It's really a shame they couldn't put out a premium/super durable model of PS2 for those that wanted to pay for the improved quality. Ofourse that might be admitting the shitty quality of the regular model.
