I find it very hard to read white text on a black background, for me its hard to focus on the text would be the best way to describe it. Everything blurs together and strains my eyes. Can i urge who ever is doing the theme here to read up on HCI design, and use normal colours on the site? If you really don't want to do that it would be appreciated if we could have the option of a more normal coloured skin, or even the default vBulletin skin. Thanks and good luck with the upgrades.
There were lots of different skins with color combinations, right now this is the only available skin because of the transition to the new vb version, just try to hold on guys and be patient, everyone's freaking out like it's the end of the world with these sudden changes on the forum's skins... I'm sure there will be at least 2 skin options (light/dark) after the update is over.
It's fine on my eyes but I really hate the dark look. But as we know, the board is being updated so we're stuck with this theme for now. Once the update is complete we'll have all our classic themes back and more probably. Yakumo
The white on black skin doesn't bother me, no matter what type of monitor I use. It also makes me feel nostalgic for the days when I made web pages for devices connected to CRT televisions (WebTV/Saturn/Dreamcast/AOL TV...), where this sort of color scheme worked best.
I find dark themes a lot better , since my eyes are sensitive to light. Bright backgrounds give me headche and blur after some time. I wish youtube could use one of those "lights off" option...
I guess it depends also what type of monitor you are using. I do know that I would prefer white text if I was using a CRT. Also depends on the type of 'true font' you're using (for windows).
WTF, last night I DREAMED about visiting ASSEMblergames and it was back to black text on a white background! I got confused when I really visited the site a few minutes ago. Please allow bright skins again if it's still going to take more than a week to move.
