Who could enter the console space now if a void showed up?

Pretty much the exact opposite of what Cat meant. Take Samsung hardware (like an exploding phone, or an exploding washing machine), then slap the SEGA brand on it. "Now with even more blast processing (blast will occur shortly after laundry processing has begun)!"

I would love Hudson to come back with another console. That'd be pretty cool.

I was about to add a joke about also taking Aura (of "Interactor" game vest fame) on board to up the fail level of that thing even more, but come to think of it, sth "Interactor-y" (but properly implemented) would actually be a really cool thing to add to a VR setup, don't you think?

In reality Google or Amazon. I mean Amazon bought Double Helix. Seemed they were headed that way but don;t think Fire TV took off as well as they hoped.

Problem is these would just be streaming boxes. A million of them and none of them do well. As much as I love SEGA..no. Outside of the name it's not the same company at all. The time for SEGA to come back was 2005-2006 in partnership with MS.

I would say Nvidia would be the best choice I mean Shield exists but now they are with Nintendo. If they didn't a partner with Nintendo I would say Nvidia and I mean a console with physical media.

 

I really dig that design for some reason (the console; the pads are 'meh') . Maybe add a bit of woodgrain...

 

I'd buy that if it was real.
