I recently found out that music is a very big part of making my days more bearable at work.
I went for almost a month without my headphones and the days were neverending!!!

Now I have a new set of headphones, the days go much faster and are in general less crappy

Playing it, definitely. I don't know what I'd do if I had to stop for some reason.

If I were suddenly deaf, or if I couldn't play my guitar, I would probably be extremely depressed. Music is a huge part of my enjoyment of life.

I think it's pretty hard to be without music... Since my walkman broke, I have found I've been more depressed, but I still have my keyboards and tbn. Normally, I would listen to my music when commuting and when I need to sleep, but now I can only when I am at home which is a small portion of the day except on weekends. I think it's save to say that without some form of music, the world would be a horrible place (more so than it is now...).
Good thing I'm getting a Zune soon. :)

When I was traveling recently, I didn't have much music with me – I didn't want to wear headphones as I wanted to be 100 per cent aware of the world around me, just in case I missed something important.

I was utterly crushed to come home, but being able to listen to my music collection again totally lifted my spirits, and reminded me that life is brilliant. And being back home means I can go and see my favourite bands play live again - bonus!

I don't know what I'd do without my music. I guess I'd lose my mind.

I don't know how people went by not so long ago, when music wasn't readily available for anyone to listen...

    Sad sad days :(

Must agree, hours pass way faster when you listen some music.

In my personal case, I don't know what I would do without music. There're many musicians in my family and I had a walkman since I was 10, since then I carry my music everywhere I go.

After a stressful day, I found that hard and loud music works better for me. The louder, the better. Nothing like some thrash metal to lift my mood when I'm really stressed or pissed off :D

If I went deaf, I would go completely insane. Music is a necessity in life for me, and it's been around me for as long as I remember.

Listening to music via several different analog and digital media formats is what first gave me an interest in technology such a long time ago. I wouldn't be the same person at all without it.

    I agree.

Jō Hisaishi's music helps me calm down, and really relaxes me, such beatufiul music. I listen to his music on my way to (and back from) the university almost everyday, and always listen to an album or two while at home. I recently discovered him and am still in shock by his excellence, a true master himself, outstanding musician

Joe Satriani is another musician I really really like. Beautiful music as well.

And when in the mood for something heavier, Liquid Tension or Dream Theater, or even Jordan Rudess are some good choices

I used to play the electric guitar, bass guitar and keyboard a lot. No longer have a bass guitar nor keyboard, but still keep my sexy Ibanez electric guitar, though I hardly play it, last time I did was last year if iirc. Lack of time for practicing/jamming and no longer having a band became killers for my instrument playing time.

Used to play lots of Joe Satriani covers, if I try it now I believe I would hardly be able to play "Starry Night", "Belly Dancer" or "Hill Groove". "The Extremist" was one of my favorite songs to play, and most of the tracks from the "Strange Beautiful Music" album.

It's a shame but I dare say my Rockband guitar gets more use than my Ibanez
