I'm not a phone guy by any means... I have unlimited 4g data from us-cellular. I got in under the promotion that they were running a couple years ago. I can keep it indefinitely, but I can't make any changes on the provider end(add phone/change plan/etc) I mostly use my data at home for internet. I use 20-30gb/month at home and <2gb when I'm not. I picked up a us-cellular 4g router/modem for cheap. Could I move my sim from the phone(note 2) to the router and not raise any flags at us-cellular? Can I clone the sim? I would get a cheap prepayed plan for the phone... Can I keep my same phone ###?
I am pretty sure that you would not be able to keep your same number and keep the plan you have now. US Cellular will probably find any reason they can to get you off the unlimited data plan
Copying a SIM card is probably illegal. You can't have more than one device running the same number - that would be fraud (trying to circumvent having to pay for two contracts). Are you allowed to tether on that contract? I woudn't use 4G for home Internet, anyway - it's not very fast.
