This is just another rant-thread. Maybe some others experienced this before: You start watching a popular TV show and you really like it, except for that one character who annoys the shit out of you. After watching several episodes or seasons, you really begin wishing that character would either be removed, die, punished or humiliated within the storyline so that you could at least release some pressure. My example is Peggy Hill from King of the Hill. I congratulate Mike Judge for his genius effort of shaping such a great character. She is exactly performing how he wanted her to perform: She is self-righteous, has completely out-of-this-world self-confidence despite no skills in any field whatsoever. She would rather humiliate her own son than admit her own weaknesses to herself. She would rather have her husband go to jail than admitting that she was wrong. She is constantly praising herself out loud. She is ugly and boring, but convinced to be beautiful and intellectual. I watched almost 4 seasons of King of the Hill so far and I really like the show. Love all the other characters including sad loser Bill and funny stereotype Kahn. I understand that Mike Judge wants me to dislike Peggy Hill for being a pain in the a**, but unfortunately he did too good of a job on this in my opinion. Lol Would love to hear what characters of TV shows (not movies) really piss you off, yet you still continue watching it.
From Malcolm in the middle, I hate not one but three characters (most hated to least hated of the three): -Malcolm's grandma (Ida) -Francis's first boss in Alaska (Lavernia) -Malcolm's mom (Lois)
Barney. He is KOS no matter why the purple dinosaur is around. Thankfully it's not as popular as it was some years ago.
"Hate" is too strong a word, but River Song from Doctor Who has no point being on the show and she's always been kind of annoying. Her best appearance by far was in Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead, and she probably wouldn't appear anymore if Moffat wasn't so in love with his own characters.
Spongebob. After watching him for several years and have him pretty much jump the shark(no pun intended), I've had it with that annoying little sea sponge B(
When I was around 5-6 years old, I never understood how the others (characters in the show) could possibly like Winnie the damn Pooh. Well yes, he's dumb and adorable, but when it comes to showing concern for the others, he was always lacking. His best friend is in danger? He will ask for honey. His best friend needs his help? Only if there's honey. What a self-centered jerk LOL Couldn't stand watching it because I always wanted the others to confront him and say that he's not considerate. Never happened, so I switched to other shows.
I agree about Peggy Hill hate and add other annoying and awful cartoon mums: Marge Simpson, Lois Griffin, Francine Smith, Linda Belcher and Donna Tubbs Brown.
I despise this kid with every fiber of my being. I want to see him ripped apart by boars, but that'll never happen I know. lol
Jerry from Tom and Jerry. Tom is always just trying to do his job so he doesn't get beaten by his abusive owners. Jerry is just an a$$hole who screws Tom every time. The only episode I liked was when Tom finally captured Jerry and ate him, then he woke up.:sorrow:
My most hated cartoon is the Billy & Mandy I cannot stand that stupid A$$ crapfest & Robin from Teen Titans can't stand him neither :/
Seven of Nine, Star Trek Voyager. Love that series but hated the fact that she became the centre piece for the last two seasons. Guess they were running out of steam and thought tits were the answer.
-Lisa Simpson, of The Simpsons. She became such an obnoxious Mary Sue who, as one person put it best, "[acts as] a walking, talking pulpit through which the writers of the show all too frequently ram various messages down the throats of their viewers in a manner almost totally bereft of wit and subtlety". This is bad enough on its own, but this self-righteous attitude ruined the other characters, with the worst probably being Homer: he used to be a slow but caring family man prone to foibles, but the increasing focus of advocating "social justice" on the show (mainly through Lisa) has turned him into a selfish, slovenly savage. Basically, the transformation into "New" Lisa turned her family (and many secondary characters) from real characters into one-dimensional foils used to lecture and condemn the audience. oh and her "im a 2nd grade outcast woe is me" bullshit has got to stop too Say what you will about Peggy Hill being annoying: she's always been like that, and she's meant to be that way.
