This is crazy. This forum is tiny and wants to block non-members from viewing the other forums. It makes sense to limit posts, but reading existing posts. Come on you guys are not that important. This is not helping the hobby of video game collecting
Yeah, the fact that we're "tiny" doesnt hinder us in the least. This board has been a very friendly place and we all like to keep it that way - the past has proven that most unregistered posters do not contribute anything anyway. On a lighter note, I invite you to be part of this community. It's not like we mean to ban any newcomers, we just erect a little treshold to hold the barbarians at bay
Is registering such a hard thing? ;-) If we aren't that important for you go away ;-) Otherwise you are welcome to take some seconds to register and be a part of the community,not wanting to register makes simply no sense beside you just want to look and not to contribute which won't help the community too. Moderators please close all the maybe upcomming "I can't view all forums,I don't want to register" threads and point to this one.
Just register! Perhaps you misunderstand, but all you have to do to register is give a username, password, and an email address. There is no initiation process, we aren't going to sit here critiquing you and judging whether or not you're good enough to be in here. So, just join, post, whatever. Oh, and I do think we are that awesome. :smt019
I look at this site once every six months. The reason I do that, is because you guys talk about the same stuff over and over. Secondly the regular part of the site hasn't been added to since I first looked at it. It is a well designed and interesting, but a regular person doesn't need to look at it more that a couple times to take everything in. I like to brouse forums and don't need a million passwords and logins to look at a stupid forum. I Have enough passwords to remember for my JOB. Some of you may not have one yet, so I understand your positions on feeling special in a little fun community of like people. thanks
Cmon, join, do it. Just use a password that you already use for something else...cmon... As for talking about the same old things, theres only so much to talk about in the area of rare/obscure video games...unless we discover some console we never knew existed. (remember that korean one? kinda like a SNES, but w/o all the fancy chips to do stuff like mode7) But theres still always things to find out about development systems, and new rare things are always coming along w/ special editions of new consoles, etc. And at the very least, there will always be talk of modding, collecting, etc. Theres locks on the other boards, (espcially the sales one) because it got kinda annoying when someone would post things like "PS2 test unit for sale" and "working m2 with stacks of software, 50 bucks" (jk) and other things and then never come back. New members are generally welcome, as long as they don't come in acting like a total jackass.
Erm the forum isnt much to do with the regular site... and most of us have jobs and a life... Why should we/assembler spend time for people who really dont wish to contribute or join the comunity...? Everyone here knows alot more then whats on assemblers pages and if you took the time to join us for a few times a week you would know alot more. There is only so much he can put on a web page and not spend his whole life on it!!! One password and one username im sure you can remember that or use a post it note? How about making a log in with a nice username no one else has and use it for all the forums u ever want to read? We might allow non members to post here but alot of forums dont. Also alot of forums wont even let you in without a username. We allow you to see the most active part of the board and post! Well then maybe you should find another forum. As you think we arent anything special im sure thre are many other forums like this around.... Otherwise get your self a cup of coffe register and sit back and join us on some of the more interesting topics like whos got the nicest collection! :smt040

lol sometimes certain ppl here are racists, of course they dun want to admit that, also when some newcomer suddenly have cool stuffs or cool link to stuffs, these 'certain ppl' get defensive and somewhat gets incovenient not that i care much about.. but these things happen

I really don't think we're asking anything unfair by wanting people to register to view the whole board - like everyone says, it keeps out the riffraff, which we would sometimes have problems with last time (Jeff whatsisname and the NR Reader, anyone? :smt043 ). It's not like we're charging money for it or expect you to post a ton of personal data, we just want you to pony up and register. If you decide that the forum is worth the five or less minutes that process takes, then by all means do so and welcome to our community. the only racist thing I remember is somebody making a 'joke' about jews once but that was sometime in 2002... heck, I might even be mistaken with some other boards I had been visiting at that time. Geemu-san Gameman, if you would care to point us to that supposedly racist material I'm sure a mod would take action if it's considered grave enough.

Just login or register, i don't know what the fuss is about, if you really want to view the board be a memeber sign up and log in, it's not like thats soooo hard.
