Well, these rules seem pretty clear to me: 1. Price checks require pictures. 2. Pictures require sig in them. How come, then, NOBODY posts price checks with sig pictures? You either get pictures without sigs, or no pictures. And mods seem to ignore this altogether. Maybe we need to make it so you have to have over 50 posts for these, too? That said, even regulars ignore it.
In some cases it just doesn't make sense. If we are talking a one of a kind proto then it makes sense due to the authenticity always being in question. However showing me a photo of a DTL-T10000 Tool doesn't say anything about the working condition, presence or lack thereof of protos and is only of the most limited usefulness in determining the value of the item. The rule also as written doesn't consider a potential buyer who wants to know if an item is overpriced before buying. Edit: Read posts 2 and 3 here http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?36032-Posting-rules-MUST-READ
Well, if Kev doesn't mind the price check being used to check you're not paying over the odds for something, that's fine. It still doesn't explain why people can't grab a piece of paper and write their name on it before they take a photo, though - as requested. Perhaps they're just outdated rules and can be disposed of, though? (somewhat like the rule in the rules section that says accounts will be pruned after 100 days inactivity)
The answer is simple people don't read the rules. How many times do we see in the marketplace people being told to stick a sig in a picture or to GTFO because they don't have 50 posts or more? Why would you expect the price check forum to be any different? It would be nifty if the new thread/reply box in certain forums was pre-filled and could only be edited underneath each rule so they had to comply or look like an idiot when the post went live. Not sure if such wizardry exists though.
