WHY DON"T YOU HAVE A STUPID DELETE BUTTON!

I knew writing the "Snes was underutilized" thread was a stupid idea. I wanted to delete a second after I wrote. You must be stupid in thinking that I want spend my time reading your stupid responces. I don't want my question answered, I don't care about it anymore. Is it that hard to explain? I have better things to do, rather than talking to forum monkeys who like to yell at me for stupid shit.

Excuse my insults, I don't want to be here right now.

Contact a moderator/admin and you can ask them to delete the thread for you.

ASSEMblergames is a place of well sourced info and intelligent conversation.

You did well in providing some thought provoking conversation but you also made the fatal error of criticizing the work of others without any useful references to back up your argument, your desire to back track and delete the thread you made is evidence of your mistake.

I did mention a while back that you can't do this. We can surmise from some of the things that you have said that you are gifted but not very old, some of the people on these boards in all likely hood have programmed the games you attack so often...have you ever thought how it might feel to have the work you slaved over to feed your family slammed by someone who was still in diapers at the time?

    This isn't Sega16 and it isn't n e o g e o . c o m we are not all trying to one up each other and prove we're all amazing.

John Carmack of Id is renowned for being one of the sloppiest coders on the planet, his work is hacked to hell and he uses very little optimisations and yet he got so rich from his games he can probably print money out of his ass. If he'd made better use of his time and tidied his code up I really don't think things would be any different today.

    Slowdown isn't a bug or a fault...it's a feature.

Haha, I'm so using that line if my boss asks me to speed up some code. :)

That works for everything, actually: "Why does this seg-fault?" "It's a new feature".

    1. If you don't read messages on forums (which you stated in the SNES thread), why are you on this forum?

    2. If you don't want to be here, why are you?

    3. The forum welcomes open discussion on topics. If you're going to start a discussion thread, expect people to do exactly that - DISCUSS IT. Don't expect everyone to have the same opinion as you. And if someone asks you to qualify a statement you make, that is a perfectly reasonable request. Don't spit your dummy because of it.

    4. You make yourself look like you have split personalities when you make a statement and then completely contradict it not long after.

    5. If you can't take constructive criticism and jokes, then I would suggest not using Internet forums in general.

    6. You're welcome to edit your posts, but you don't have the power to delete a thread yourself. If you want that done, politely request it and a mod will look at it. Therefore, think before you post!

    7. (expansion of 6) We have several different forums for a reason. The SNES post would have been better off in the Nintendo forum than General Development. This thread would CERTAINLY be better off in Site News and Feedback. Even if you don't bother looking in all the forums, acquaint yourself with them, so you know where best to post ;-)

I think this was the first thing that went through the minds of everyone who has seen that thread. In your case darkangel, at least I would read the rules.

If you don't want to be here then go, but if you want to stay you'll have to be polite with other members of the boards and be patient when you ask something to the moderators. Remember, they have lives outside the forums too, and if they didn't delete in the first 5 minutes it doesn't mean they won't do it.

I'm really starting to think that darkangel's account is shared by a bunch of guys that are fighting right now about who's writing the next post

that's because there's only smart delete button.

I changed my mind about it. Sometimes I just forget about the few games that actually did take advantage of it's speed.

Most people (at least around here) are smart enough to THINK before hitting the "Submit" button - hence no need for a "Delete" one....
