The words my aunt says whenever i come with 'trash' as she puts it. just today made about a hundred pound+ off 2 'garbage' ps3's. each bought for a fiver One crashed every few minutes (over heating i think orfilled with crap still waiting to try) and other that would not read any discs. Cleaned the no disk read one thoroughly and works fine and still waiting to clean the other.
Personally I keep all of my broken systems in the hope that if I get another one that breaks, I can use the old one for spare parts to fix the new one.
Nice work! I get great satisfaction out of fixing stuff that others think is broken. Can't believe you got the PS3 for a fiver though, sure you don't mean PS2? My motto is that if something breaks it's usually something simple, like cleaning the dust out of it. So I'd always try things like that first before giving up.
My buddies are allchavs.cant wait longenough for um to getrepaired so get there parents to buy another. The plank left the HD in too. 60gb model for 5 pound ftw.
after a little cleaning the other one works too. Gonna stress test it make sure itll run for more than 2 or so hours and then give it to one of my much cooler friends. i dont need 2.
Well done! I like fixing stuff too, when I have the time. I know many who get all worked up when they want to fix something, and they soon give up. I take my time, relax, and it works in the end.
That's nuts! But too true, I've seen it myself all too often. Maybe I'm just a sucker because I just fixed it for them for free! My best run was a few years ago and I bought a load of cheap faulty Dreamcasts off ebay, ended up giving them away to friends once fixed.
