Has anyone else got a stupid postman??
Mine's worse than useless, yesterday he came with three packages which could have fit through the letterbox there was somebody home but he didn't ring the doorbell, he just wrote a card and took them back to the sorting office for my mother to collect. Today, that same postman, just dumped a huge package on the doorstep without ringing the doorbell. There's no rhyme or reason to his decisions, it just seems to be based on what he fancies doing on that particular day.
It's just a joke, where do royal mail find people like him.
I suppose he can't be to blame though, his mind is on other things, he is, after all, having affairs with a large number of the housewives living on my road.

    LOL!

Dumbass postman syndrome, are you sure it's the same one? I've never had the same one deliver to my gaff twice. One of them dumped a package in our cardboard recycling bin, yea you read right, in the bin. If I hadn't checked it before collection day it would have gone into the back of the bin truck. How's that for outrageous?

Wow, that is awful, at least you found it in time though.
The same one for sure, he's been our postman since I was like 5 and the first day it was his signature on the card, the second day my mother saw him leaving after chucking my fragile package onto the doorstep.
We did once have a supply postman who chucked a parcel with two badly wrapped dreamcast games in over our side fence. It looked like he had done some sort of slam dunk, there was blue plastic everywhere.

The royal mail do indeed employ some dumb fucks that's for sure. I was pretty lucky where I lived but I have heard some shocking stories about postmen.

Just realised the LOL probably seemed insensitive, the only reason I laugh is that I was shocked someone was still appalled at their service after all these years mate.

As Yakumo said their mainly a bunch of fuckwits, that's why I avoid sending anything through Royal mail standard mail which has any value. It all has to be recorded nowadays.

Don't think The United States Postal Service is any better while I have yet to not get packages I send for, I do frequently get them late and on many occasions get other people's mail.

I have quite the opposite experience with USPS. I bought an AES with 6 games and 2 OEM controllers from someone on a forum. It was quite a large transaction for buying something sight unseen from a guy half way across the continent. i sent the guy an additional $25 so that he would package it correctly and buy package insurance. he did neither of those things. everything was loose in a large "Staples" box. after he sent the package he texted me a picture of the box. he "forgot" to put my address on the box as well as not getting package tracking. all that was on the box was my name and zip code. so i printed out the picture he sent me and gave it to my mail lady and told her about it. she said she would personally keep an eye out for it. i wrote my phone number on the picture as well. about a week later she called me from her personal cell phone and told me the box showed up and she wouldn't be able to deliver it until the next day, but i was welcome to pick it up now. so i got it. best customer service ever! i feel that any other postman would have ignored me completely.

although it all worked out, i have yet to have another transaction with that seller.

Even that hardly ever works out for me; Royal Mail never even take a signature the majority of the time that I have a recorded delivery. Instead, they either post it through my letterbox if small enough, or knock on my door and just hand it to me without a signature if it is larger.

Where do you live? What region? It's against the law for them to disregard the importance of a recorded package. There must be a signature at both ends otherwise it's gross negligence and you'd be entitled to quite a tidy sum mate no matter what the contents of the package.

Don't get me wrong, it does happen! probably a lot. But not enough people are doing anything about it to make a difference at the moment it seems.

Recorded goes the same route as normal 1st class. Special delivery apparently goes via another route

I heard the opposite, recorded one way and special the usual way. The difference being one needs signatures ether end, the other doesn't.

    Both need signatures.

Special delivery is the guaranteed next day one and goes the different route, recorded is the same as first class but just needs a signature too.

Never understood the difference between the two really, and still don't. Both need signatures ether end but travel different routes. Which one is more expensive, which one is the more secure way of sending a package.

To my knowledge it's always been recorded (the champion) the best way of sending Royal Mail with the least fuck ups.

Special delivery is the more expensive option, with full tracking along the route and gets signed for.

Recorded is same as 1st class and just gets signed for on delivery. You can not track it, but you can see when its delivered.

Australia post has dumb fucks too, signature require? Slide a card under the door and drive off. Might as well not even pay for postage with tracking.. At least it will be waiting for me at the door and not a card.

Hold on, so Special Delivery is the one to go for if you need to use Royal Mail? I always swore by recorded thinking it was recorded every step of the way making it harder to tax my shit just in case some scummy piece of shit decided to open my mail and rob me.

Special is the way to go then?

I got most of my stuff delivered to work as there is somebody in the office between 7:30 and 17:00 but our last postman had taken to delivering ALL post for the entire business site to 1 communal location and you have to sort through it yourself.

The only problem with this is that he also left any - to sign for - packages there too.
Around 6 weeks ago I bought some beta discs from a friend valued at around £800. They were sent via 'Special Delivery' with full tracking and insurance and should have arrived the following day; they didn't. The very next day a signature appears on the RM tracking website (not mine obviously), a further 3 days later and still no sign of the package!
It wasn't until the 7th day into the claim process (which was starting to be a real pain as they apparently had 'my' signature for the parcel) that a guy from another unit around the corner brought my parcel round saying he had found it bundled in with his mail the other day and forgot to bring it round :banghead:

When it all gets laid out in the open the lazy twat of a postman had just scribbled on his signature machine and dumped the parcel with all the other mail :dammit:

Moral of the story... Royal Mail employ dicks!!!
