Does anyone know if another game will be released? Not the homebrew stuff but maybe something by Grev?? Im sure if something was released it would sell.
Yup, all UK models came with shitty, shitty, shitty RF. Mind you, I didn't know any different back then; I thought that was what all consoles came with. The Gamecube was my first with composite. And the Dreamcast was my first with RGB SCART, £3 from Currys! My Dad broke ti by smacking the back of my Dreamcast with a hoover, but I actually went and paid £25 for an official Sega one.. The DC's game library was just great at the time. I was so excited about so many released; I haven't had that since. EDIT: AAAAAAAAAND I nearly forgot.. the Dreamcast had a very special place in my heart because, on booting a game, you got the option to select 50hz or 60hz. Oh my god. Totally legendary. *Tear forms in the corner of eye* My hero..
The dreamcast was a nice machine but the Playstation 2 won and quite frankly has a better collection of games then the Dreamcast did, i think some fanboys need to move on and embrace gaming. Effectively the dreamcast lasted 8 years and 4 months, the PS2 has already passed that and is still selling well. A lot of the DC games that people rave about are on other consoles including the PS2. But there is Dux coming out so it's lasted longer... Last Hope(less) was a pile of steaming crap, so don't have much hope with Dux. Although I am sure the Ultra Rare Limited Edition will sell and get put on Ebay for inflated prices... I am sure if the developers dumped into a box and said comes with Limited Edition crap it would still sell on Ebay for stupid money for no sensible reason. Also personally I still rather drag out a Megadrive or a Saturn over the Dreamcast.
Sorry but this seems clouded with fanboyism. I loved my DreamCast back in the day, is was cool. But it died out early and many games were just superior versions of Playstation games or Arcade ports. Now I enjoyed the ports of games like Marvel Vs Capcom which I bought with my DreamCast along with Sonic Adventure. I played the hell out of the DreamCast but then it died, and I was left with no new games to play until quite a bit later when I forget if I bought a PS2 or a GC first and then later the Xbox. Also part of the cool factor of the DC was the homebrew which is no longer really a cool point about it as you have all sorts of systems for that now. So these days, about the only games I can think of that I may want to drag out the DC to play are arcade ports like Soul Calibur, MvsC2, Powerstone, Ikaruga.. So that's just my view is that it's fanboy-like and nostolgia. Not wrong with that I suppose. It's just that I personally would not take DC over Xbox 360.
Seriously though, at least here, the PS2 didn't have too great of games until after the Dreamcast died. They were DVD players for a long time. 360 beat the Dreamcast as my favorite system...lol.
