Why there weren't any digimon games for the gameboy pocket/color? At the time, the digimon were known, digivices existed and bandai had already made some tamagotchi games for the gameboy. With the link cable option, why wasn't there a game based on the digivice employed? Was it because of the playstation digimon world games, or was it the factor of how much the pokemon games were specifically designed for the gameboy?
prehaps nintendo didnt want it competing with pokemon games, or maybe other licensing issues. what i want to know is why are there not more first person shooter games on the original gameboy.
Not enought power to run a decent raycasting experience (not the ... Faceball 2000 one), maybe. And other techniques, like the Gamecom's Duke Nukem 3D were pretty horrible.
Probably because they didn't really want to have any other competitors for the pokeman franchises, plus bandai was developing Wonderswan at that point, which had have digimon as a rival game series to Nintendo's pokemen.
Probably because Nintendo owns the Pokemon franchise and has very tight bonds with Gamefreak. I'd think it'd be more that than the fact that Digimon games came out on the Wonderswan since the original Pokemon Green/Red/Blue games came out in Japan in '96, and the Wonderswan came out around '99. And also, Bandai kinda owns Digimon as a brand so it'd be quite logical that it came out on Wonderswan.
Game Boy was an dying relic on its Pokemon frenzy last legs, by the time Digimon was popular enough to do anything useful with. Game Boy Color would've had a chance if not for Wonderswan.
there is X and Faceball 2000 its a shame Tyrannosaurus Tex was cancelled and 99.99999999% chance it will never surface the video has also been lost forever
it's probably worth mentioning that there were a lot of bootleg ones. i mean holy god there were a lot. this isn't even all of them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8J5gOU9ycM Digimon Pocket (RPG version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm8AXcxVcFk Digimon Diamond http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9l_6HjMsnY Digimon Saphire http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5P1mkjzwBw Digimon D-3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-31kDX8uNU Digimon 02 5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HfBMDwHt0M Digimon Crystal II http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Alc2cv0EOoE Digimon 3 Crystal (RPG version) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJCaWA0Wk4c Digimon Yellow Jade http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjGwmOnpBAM Digimon D-4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JAcy9RfSv4 Digimon Amethyst http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di_wkY9UsWA Digimon Pocket & Digimon 3 Crystal (platform versions) ...so there was definitely a market Bandai could have tapped into if they were that way inclined.
Great site and good stuff shared there, thanks. Do you have FFX for GBC? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y39a-fcszTs). I've been looking for it.
no prob! as for FFX I don't have it on my site but it's dumped elsewhere, if you search for "Final Fantasy X - Fantasy War (Unl) [C]" it should be quite easy to find. (unless you're looking for a physical copy, in which case I don't have one of those either)
