My mate introduced me to Wififofum, an amazing piece of software for Windows Mobile devices. Have a looky here: http://www.aspecto-software.com/rw/index.html Anyone know of anything available for Apple iBook or Windows XP (laptop) that is as good?
I know of KisMAC(open source), not sure if its any good since i don't own a MAC. There is also retina wifi scanner for XP, again not sure how good it is but i am giviing it a try on my desktop with my wireless usb stick.
NetStumbler is the old standard for windows boxes - however, it's picky about the wireless chipsets that it'll work with.
Thanks! I actually want to see just how secure my own Wifi settings are and just how far from my front door I can detect the home base. For example, I really thought that MAC addressing my equipment to the router would make it more secure until I sniffed the packets and realized how easy it was to establish that information! Why bother? I really want to make it as invisible as possible. If I stop broadcasting the SSID I can't connect using the iMac or iBook. The XP and Vista PCs still connect, so I think I'll have to go along to Apple and find out what they suggest.
MAC: http://kismac.macpirate.ch/download.php http://www.macstumbler.com/ not worth trying on your mac really...better install linux and use aircrack-ng
