Ok, i bought a near mint wii but have only the wii kung fu dynamic duo pad. I have also read that the wii gamepad connects to this abomination. I searched ebay and found some clones that connect to the gamecube ports. So what do you recommend? Gamecube or classi controller pad? Also are the chinese clones any good?
I prefer the Classic non-Pro myself. Chinese clones: Hit and miss. I got a Gamecube pad and a Wiimote+ that are decent, another Wiimote that's got issues and a Classic controller that just plain sucks. If you're on a bit of a budget, better look for used Nintendo ones.
the classic pro came out for the wii. You're thinking of the Wii U Pro controller. This is the Classic and the Classic Pro
Pro Controller for the WiiU the sticks are in the wrong spot, it's a nice controller but everytime I pick it up at my friend's place I think I'm using the 360 controller.
:witless: and if you can afford/find one available...> ... get a wired ngc pad for backup, useful on the softmod recovery menu. ... had a go on the 'pros' not for me...:concern: the choice is yours. :smile-new:
The Wii classic controller that has been pictured twice is decent. I always liked using it, although it throws people off due to the button placement. Everyone expects it to have the layout of the DC/Xbox, but it retains the classic Nintendo setup.
It throws me off playing smash bros because the B button is where the A button is on the GC controller, and the A button is where the X button was on the GC controller. Games besides that, meh. Doesn't throw me off.
If you can find one for a decent price, the Wavebird is awesome. If not, a regular GC pad will do just as well, if you're willing to sacrifice wireless connectivity.
That's precisely the game that does it to people. My friends hate the controller for exactly that reason. I don't mind it, as I'm not really big into SSB. I like it for the GoldenEye reboot and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! I saw a Wave bird at a Buybacks in Erie, PA for about $46. Thought that was slightly high, but I'm not sure the going price now. My roommate owns one and likes it a lot.
^^ if it comes complete (pad and receiver) good fair price... matter of opinion though. :witless: .... i have two, one boxed/complete with an ngc pad socket extension cable (2m) and another in use that didn't have packaging, same deal on extension. (the wavebird in use is a live backup for the ps2-to-ngc pad converter) ... battery life on those slags are outstanding, built for a 'shortbus' crowd easily 'challenged' in games. (lost their shit and bounced the fucker off several walls) quality indeed. good wireless range, 3m EASY with obstacles, but no vibration, to extend battery life. (no wavebird model with motors was relzd, afaik) WORTH IT! if you can grab one (or sixteen tops as the receiver can be locked per wavebird basis, adjustable to any wavebird at any time) you're set. :smile-new:
Well, for SSB4WiiU, there's gonna be a set of character themed Classic Controllers in the shape of Gamecube controllers released. So if you're still interested in Wii game pads by that point, I'd say that those'll probably be tits.
They're not Classic controllers; they're actual Gamecube controllers. They'll even work on a Gamecube.
Shameless bump! Will all wii games play with the gamecube controller? I am thinking buying this adapter to use with my ps2 pads. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-In-1-PS...Games_Cables_and_Adaptors&hash=item4ac3162b66
