Kotaku has a short preview and the game is Goldeneye in name only. Gameplay is different and the levels are different. Don't know why they keep saying "Goldeneye to be released on the Wii, due to demand" Its not the same game in any way. Whats the point, why not make a Daniel Craig dedicated title? http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/06/goldeneye-for-wii-is-a-remake-with-some-asterisks/?
Exactly. As I said they are just trying to ride on the name like EA did with Goldeneye RA a few years ago. Its a shame really. Seems like its more a spiritual successor rather than a direct remake.
It just doesn't look good. They half arsed the port it looks like. Either have it totally original, or tart it up to look like a modern game. Don't settle somewhere in the middle. Still, Goldeneye with a decent framerate might be good.
Two things: -Needs support for classic controller. -Sound. I want a good soundtrack. But I doubt it will Graeme Norgate and Grant Kirkhope will work on this one.
so it's Goldeneye in name alone? it's also missing the classic multiplayer levels? please... this isn't goldeneye.... plus it's on the Wii... if the game was on rails that's one thing.
ugh, i would never play an fps with that thing. not even the pro model. it doesn't even have triggers. the N64 even had a trigger.....
I wonder what happened to them bringing out a N64 controller for the Wii. I swear I saw it and several others a few years ago?
The N64 controller is natively compatible with the GC so perhaps with the Wii as well. It's just a wiring matter. On the subject of the classic controller..the pro model is as good as the GC controller, but optimized for D-pad use so you might do some Dual Shock gymnastics on your way to the left stick. Any fps is much more natural using the IR pointing, I don't see why people would go for the classic option but for nostalgia reasons.
N64 and GC have different connectors for their joypads, so I wouldn't call them "natively" compatible. I wasn't aware that they were pin-compatible either, but it's certainly possible. People want classic dual stick over IR pointing for lower latency control.
