This may or may not amuse you - I laughed uncontrollably (pardon the pun!)

    http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com

Have a read through the ever growing list of injuries & damage caused by Wii remotes.

On recent news in Greece, some kid broke a tooth with Wii. An MP has urged the Wii to be removed from the Greek market all-together. No Wii for Greece anymore it would seem. How sad and retarded.

I know some lawyers that would regard this as a barrier to trade in the EU, considering that the Wii is not an "eminent" danger to anyone but clumsy assholes. The same thing could be said for tennis rackets for fuck's sake!

Oh man, I can see this turning into a farce. For years those same politicians, do gooders and anti-technologists have been calling for the increasingly obese gaming fraternity (I am as skinny as a rake) to get off their butts and get some exercise. The moment a manufacturer provides a solution, they go nuts and start complaining that this so-called exercise is dangerous to us!

America is where the culture of blame tends to arm itself with lawsuits relating to the ridiculous. I guess we might start to see injuries claims against Nintendo and the backlash of getting of our butts.

Seriously, folks, it's much safer to remain seated and use a conventional weapon! To all those Wii remote users - sit down, calm down and please become a little bit more spacially aware.

I don't understand why people play the Wii games standing up anyway.

So much for the "video games help with hand eye coordination" arguement.
In order to hit yourself in the tooth with a wiimote you have to be what? retarded?

In over 20 years of gaming I've never felt the need to stand up or managed to hit myself or anyone else with either the controller or input device. That said, I did once trip over a cable and land in a crumpled heap under a coffee table, yet that's another story (it also involved some wine, so I can be excused I hope).

Nope, this behavour is limited to Wii owners I am lucky to say. As a pre-Wii owner, I think I might look into higher contents insurance and the possibility of personal insurance before I buy one. If J-Lo can insure her butt for $1million dollars in case of losing it (?) I suppose Wii owners can insure their teeth in casing of Wii remote accidental & self inflicted dental surgery.

Yeah, it's never been the same since 140 B.C., when the abacus was banned for 300 years after a child broke one open and managed to choke on the beads.

    :lol::lol: Spot on lads!

My country is run by computer illiterates, and most people are complete ignorants concerning the subject. There's the elite few that are very technical though, so we do have two extremes.

It should be noted that the EU gave us a spanking for being the "last" in the EU regarding the percentage of people using the internet. They even funded the government to make people aware and engaged in the wonderful invention that is the interweb!

The main cause though for this, I think, is that ISPs are rip-offs, and most people can't afford a proper DSL connection.

Anyone who causes harm to them selves or others or even breaks something while playing Wii must be a retard in the first place. It's a Fucking game that you play sitting down or at least standing in one spot. Some people are just as think as pig shit, as my dad used to say.

I saw people playing Tennis on Wii sports, and they used their "free" hand to try and "throw the ball in the air" in order to serve with the hand they held the wiimote.

How the hell would their hand communicate with the console and register movement, is beyond my understanding.

Hmmmmm, psychologists will be looking at this and thinking of all sorts of visual, hand / eye & spacial awareness or perception experiments they can conduct on the Wii. Imagine that, a Wii in your local shrinks office. Does Nintendo realise the potential of their product?

"I need to zee how you zerve at Wii Tennis.....Hmmm, ya, ya I zee the problem unt it is zat you are useless - for breaking mine televizion I charge you double zee going rate ya!"

(Anyone offended by the above attempt at a German accent, I truly apologise).
