http://www.gamespot.com/news/6165074.html Man, Sony sure loves saying crap when it has issues moving units. Hell, I own all 3, and it was quite the opposite: I bought the Wii after several months of planning and wanting to pick up older games on the Virtual Console, while the PS3 was nothing more then a spur of the moment thing so I could play PS2 games in a slightly higher resolution (Plus for MGS4 later on). Oh well, more mudslinging PR..
its an impulse buy, that's why there's still people sleeping outside for it, waiting for the next shipement batch.
I think Sony is going to cry when they find out 90% of their consoles sold already were for people wanting MGS4, and will see just a little more sales when it finally comes out. And of course when the inevitable Xbox 360 port of it comes out!
Ok, but where are all these amazing Wii games? It's not like they're overflowing on the shelves, or for the whole of the first quarter, is it? The only console with the games at the moment is the XB360.
True, although the roles of the consoles right now are a bit...odd. The 360 is currently the best in terms of new games and online play, Wii is the best for downloadable console games from the past, and the PS3 is...well...Mostly a Blu Ray player and downloadable Playstation PSP games.
   So true Honestly does anyone still listen / pay any attention to anything Sony says?
sure we do, where else could you hear such utter-bullshit jokes from an official mouth of a company? Lets set something clear first though. Everything "pop" is impulsive. Be it MTV. Be it Britney. Be it Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Be it LOST on TV. Nintendo has for long aimed and wished to hit the pop category, and now it has finally done that. In the same way that the Ps1 and the Ps2 were impulsive buys, back when they didn't have that great library of games, against the SEGA SATURN or the N64, and later the Dreamcast, Sony should know better than to judge Nintendo for having a superior market domination plan. Naturally, whatever is pop isn't immediately bad now is it, SONY? Britney is crap, RHCP might be good at times, but there's no denying that both the PS1 and the Ps2 have had some amazing games, despite being an impulsive buy. Hell, even MTV had something nice, it was Beavis and Butthead! Sony Computer Entertainment put all their eggs in one basket. That of the Playstation brand. They fucked up by bidding only on the console's power from a paper (And not practical) point of view, life goes on, and they have to grow up and learn from their mistakes, and instead of making ridiculous comments, focus on making some actual games for their toaster.
I own all three to me Sony has created another betamax. While I am a microsoft nut. I give credit to nintendo. the Wii rocks. Out of all consoles i am having the most fun with is the Wii and I would have to go back to the atari 2600 to were I had this much fun. In the end we buy these for entertainment and if I base value on use the Wii seems to offer the most value per cost. As for impulse buy for me it was the PS3. The Wii I had wanted for months the Ps3 was just me going into a store and they had it so i bought it on a spur of the moment thought.
Apart from when the original playstation was launched with Ridge Racer I was a fan.....but about a year or so after this they started to loose my interest
So since Sony can't move their consoles, they'd rather bash on a competitor? I can't say I didn't expect it from Sony, but this is pretty low.
My PS3 has been collectiog dust, sometimes I forget I have it lol. I have been enjoying the 360 and the Wii.
