A friend of mine gave me his Wii cause he don't play with it any more. and since my last console was the PS2 i need a crash course to get me started with my homebrew channels ,virtual console games, how to down load them, and anything else i need to know
Search google for Homebrew Channel... Browse until you find a download + tutorial, shouldn't be hard. Probably the first link... Follow every step as it is instructed and you should be on your way. Honestly, 2 years ago, that's all I did and if you can't then I don't know what to say.
The Homebrew-Channel and everything needed to get it installed you can get here. Virtual Console Games you can buy on the Wii Shop Channel. If you need help to set up your Wii to use it for Virtual Console Titles, Retail Games, connect to the Internet or how to position the Sensor Bar: click here. If you want to play your own backups, downloaded stuff not from the Nintendo Servers and not fitting the Homebrew designation, I'm sorry, but I'm not allowed to share such information on these fine boards. Good Luck and Have Fun
In general, you need to stop asking people to spoon feed you info and instead, do some homework yourself. Learn to use Google to find information and read it. Google some more. Go over to nintendo.com to get the Wii manual or to read the product pages. There's a lot of information out there.
Yeah, just follow what you read in the above posts and you should be on your way. I commend you if you use this info for fair use means. Installing your own games to a hard drive is amazing cool. I do it less out of concern for wear and tear on my Wii and more out of interest for having everything conveniently in one spot + faster loading + game mods. Also, importing games from other regions doesn't require BS mods or buying extra hardware... Just rip it and the USB loader program automatically bypasses region checks and you can force NTSC for PAL games (and vice-versa). I did this for Disaster: Day of Crisis because it was not released in the U.S.A.
Steering back the topic to just running homebrew, I love soft modding consoles. I find it to be sometimes challenging especially when theres different ways to do it. I had more fun figuring out how to mod the wii then playing the games really (cept for the Mario Galaxy series).
Hahahaha! I bet $20 this is to play pirated VC games. That is human nature, and anyone without a 7th gen console likely doesn't care about new games and wants the old ones (legally available on VC) Go ahead, flame me! But quickly name 2 things you wanna do with the homebrew without checking google. Quick go!
Wii not 7th gen console? Also 2 things pretty easy: 1) Playing games I own from hdd as I can legally do with my Xbox 360 2) Playing funny hombrew games like ... that one game
Hello everyone, 4saken if you want to install homebrew, you go ahead. Its your wii you can do what you want, I can only give you one obvious piece of advice, try not to break your wii. If that happens you won't be able to get it fixed. But I am sure you know that. Otherwise enjoy your wii. Bye. :cur_sonic: :luigi:
Do not update to 4.3 unless you have a copy of Smash Brothers Brawl. Then, still, do not upload to 4.3 once you're patched and ready. That's what I'd recommend.
I am happy to know I can take my Wii anymore and negate another device to enjoy my entertainment. Plus, I just tried out Project M last month and it is very good so far. The demo really gives you a feel for what Brawl would play like with Melee's style.
