http://kotaku.com/gaming/nintendo/n...e-chat-but-no-vc-online-capability-334064.php Seriously I now want SSBB to be delayed just to add voice functionality. Guys go ahead and beg nintendo to get this done fast and to include it in SSBB!!
SORRY WE HAVE PERFORMED RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT THAT THE CONSUMER DOESN'T WANT VOICE CHAT All sarcasm aside, with Reggie's recent quote, it's at least more possible now. If Brawl doesn't ship with the ability, then it can at least be patched via online. (Although, if Nintendo wishes to opt out, it can just say something like, "It's impossible to implement such a feature," and hope that the people who don't know about patching and firmware do listen.)
I would LOVE voice chat in Brawl. "OMG, stop edge hogging! You're so cheap! Why don't you use a different character!? You just keep doing the same move over and over!"
You'd hope they'd atleast support Voice Chat with people that you entered their friend code. It wouldn't hurt to not hear people you don't know as Xbox Live has made clear.
Not really. It's an integral part of the experience when playing team-based games. Gears of War just wouldn't be the same without voice chat. Frankly, I'm surprised Nintendo still stubbornly refuses to get a solid online plan in place after all these years. These concessions in games like SSB are a start, but christ, time to get with the times already.
All you have to do is mute people. I usually mute at least one person every time I play Halo. Especially in free for all. I even mute people I know, I just don't like hearing them talk sometimes. I agree with SuperGrafx, what's Nintendo's deal? What's their whole philosphy with online play and why hasn't it been implemented already?
Patching won't happen, just see what happened with Guitar Hero 3, they had to recall everything because the Wii has fuck all space for storage, let alone online patching worth several 100's of megs. I hope they in the future do make it possible to store everything on SD cards or some kind of USB2.0 hard drive expantion/support because it's a big impedement for bigger games and expantion packs/patching and such.
I do get the concerns for voice chat definitely. Over xbox live, there's been everything from gay bashing to bomb threats... In this case I would support only having Voice chat with people you know.
i hope it's possible to voice chat outside games too. This way I can use it say to communicate with my parents, and have an excuse to buy them a Wii too
Thats a good idea. I think I read people in the Army overseas using Xbox Live to talk to there family back home.
Woo hoo! Knowing most nintendo fanboys out there (specially the ones of the pokemon-zelda type) I would pay so I dont have to listen them saying how much they hate the PS3/X360/classmates. Voice chat will never replace sofa chat or LAN party chat, mostly becos its the anonymity of the net what lets every 13 yr old out there loose the kind of moderation they would have if you were sitting right next to them, being able to kick the living shit out of 'em...
I hate voice chat and can't understand why it has to be added. If I wanted to hear a bunch of snotty little pricks whinging about videogames I'd hang out in Gamestop on Saturday afternoon! Coop play with friends might be a worthwhile experience, but there are too many jackasses on the Internet these days IMO.
Because not all of us are immature douches. I'd sure love to bring the SMACK DOWN to people I know and kindly receive it in return. Otherwise, mute option and everyone's happy.
