http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mt44Pr3oj0Y Amazing Sega didn't realise what a goldmine they could have been sitting on. Imagine it now DREAMCAST 2 but seriously someone should have spotted this earlier
What a joke unbelievable I never thought about that one and I have both the fishing rod and VT laying around!! the worst thing is VT on the dreamcast looks better then Wii tennis! it's really too bad sega is out of the race nowadays :/ anyway will test this tonight when I'm back home.. curious how it plays!
I'll have to try this out when I get a chance. Gotta find that damn fishing controller first though...
Hahahahaha The bonus part was funny. I wonder if the controller just registers a digital input when you jerk it back and that just happens to be the same button virtua tennis uses to play.
Wow, I never knew that. Time to get myself one of those if I don't already have one  I'll have to try that out tomorrow. Oh, Sega you idiots ! If only you knew ! Yakumo
VT may look better, but it doesn't look like it'd be that much fun with that controller. At least not something that would work really well. Like it'd probably be fun because its kinda cool that it works. But, its not something you'd wanna try out more then a few times.
Its no use, I see 2 situations for this whole idea: A-The Dreamcast gets released with this "wiimote" as main controller, but it fails miserably cuz people think "its just another gimmick like the SegaCD" and since at the time (1999) the only thing that gamers seemed to care about was how many polygons a console could churn out (not the games or if its "innovative") the DC would've had the same ugly death... B-SEGA decides (today) to release a technologically obsolete console like the Wii against both X360 and PS3: total doom! shit, like 90% is still talking trash about the addons from 13 years ago and the DC getting dropped, and SEGA releases a console with a hardware thats worst than the Saturn's (in terms of power when compared against the competition at the time) and a weird controller that nobody wants to give a try? the only advantage it could get is a catalog as good as the one on the DC, but even then idiots everywhere will be like "lol, its underp0wered!!!1!one" and nobody will get one. Word of mouth is the most powerful type of advertising, and while one guy saying a console is cool may make another guy buy one, if that single guy says it sucks ass then 20 other guys will think and say it does. Ergo, if the Wii was made by SEGA and not nintendo it would've bombed badly, even if sold at $150 or less...
Yeah but Sega wouldn't release it as the main controller. They could have done it as an extra one such as the light gun or Samba De Amigo Maracas. By the way, did that come out in the states? Yakumo
Theres no "what if" here, the Wii is the work of good timing: a console with new ideas in a market full of buyers sick of the same old stuff. At the time of the DC that wasnt the situation...
