    Hello,
I got a Wii U Kiosk unit (the one with optical disc drive) which boots up properly.
But one Wiimote is missing (looks like someone ripped it off and stole it) and the cable that connects the GamePad to the console is also missing. The metal part of the GamePad is damaged so I can't turn the screw.
The Wiimote seems to be unable to communicate with the system. None of the blue LEDs is flashing and I can't navigate through the Interactive Menu. The controllers' board was connected to the upper USB plug on the back since the lower one is broken.

I would be glad if I could at least play anything with the Wiimote. I'd really appreciate if anyone with experience about Kiosk Units could give me some help.

    Thanks

open the second wiimote and see where the wires go, wire in a new one the same for the missing one.

USB port is an easy fix with the right tools

Carefully drill out the mashed screws on the gamepad

Judging by the condition, the remaining wiimote was probably yanked on and the wires have snapped inside.

Hopefully someone with a similar kiosk can shed some light on cables needed for gamepad (looks like it's just usb)

Yeah shouldn't be too hard to figure out once you have the pad open, the rest of th cabless are probably left on the board, so it will probably just be a matter of connecting the wires back up to the corresponding colours, the usb cable is just a bog standard usb type-B (same as printers generally use)

on a side note I guess someone decided they would rob a store kiosk console not realising it was vastly different

have you checked if another device plugged into the usb port gets power, it's possible the board is damaged and the usb ports aren't functional at all

I have moved the second Wiimote to Wiimote port 1. One Wiimote is sufficient to me.

I can easily order new USB plugs. I just don't know whether the controllers' board requires this specific USB port or not. If the USB port doesn't matter I'm totally fine with a broken USB plug.

Did this. Still can't remove the metal shielding. There are 2 more screws holding it on the GamePad but I can't reach them.

Thought that too! I can probe the connectivity with a multimeter later. The wiring inside the Wiimote is intact. But the cable may be faulty

Looks like someone pulled the cable with force. 2 Wires were removed from the little connector and I don't know which one belongs to where. I'd need some reference here.

I know it looks worse than before. But I can't remove the metal shield due its damage. So I removed some plastic. It just was the little frame-like part that has the battery sticker on it. The connector with the ripped wired was beneath the metal shield you can see here. I have managed to remove the screw of the antenna cable.

Yes, all 4 USB ports provide power. Even the broken one does
