Wii U Kiosk WIS-001 and WIS-003 teardown

yep, you just need an empty SD card but, sometime, work with SD card with files.

 

Hi guys, recently picked up kiosk. Couple questions:

1) how has everyone mounted new tv in kiosk? Brand? I know it's 32 inch

2) anyone have game pad cord, wiimote cords?

3) I'm missing Lynx Innovation power cord. Replacement specifications?

4) if I can't find kiosk console can you load demo onto normal console?

2) technicaly, you can build a wired game pad & wired wiimote. the old stuff from Wii Kiosk are compatible.

4) you can't use demo mode on retail console - you can use demo disc (if exist) some retail games can control WIS-007

 

Hey, I was curious as to how you hacked the console to get a retail gamepad to work on the demo unit and what's involved. Is there a lot of parts or technical work invovled? I have a demo unit (WIS-001) but don't have the wired gamepad. Your help or any other's input would be greatly appreciated. Just to be clear, if I did buy a wired gamepad, it would hook up to my demo unit without issue, correct?

 

Hey guys, well i recently got a hold of several of these units.. and i have attempted and succesfully installed a Dev Firmware on it ( that is what i believe some guys are reffering as they managed to hack it?).
Anyway teared it down and found the relay boards very interesting.. i have also plugged the power button ribbon directly to the board and it works as a retail Wii u so no surprises there.

But i wanted to ask if anyone know about the odd white cable that sticks out from being connected to the mother baord and it is not connected to anything on the other side?.

and also im trying to unblock, the DVD drive to read retail discs.. as it seems to be blocked by.. something... haha any info on that also?

Just acquired a Wii U Kiosk, but it's missing the key, the lock says U0002, anyone got a spare key?

It's a european Wii U kiosk by the way, the key doesn't seem identical to the US one.

MM not sure if we arwe talking about the same thing... i want to be able to read retail discs.. maybe use a retal dvd unit on there?...

 

Does anybody know if a kiosk Gamepad will pair with a retail console?
I understand it will need powering and maybe the aerial arrangement changing as it seems to be hard wired without internal antennas.

Not sure what the extra antenna cable attached to p22 is used for either.
