    Hey Guys,

I pick up a used Wii U Zelda edition, and its still has the previous owner user account with the game (windwakers HD) in tact. Will like to ask the following question.

    1) If I were to virginize the Wii U (Clear all data / system restore), will the Game be available for download?
    2) Should I use the system as it is now, and carry out additional purchase of new games from Nintendo eshop. Will the new games (wii U games) and VMware (GBA games) be tied to the Wii U hardware console or the user account?

Sorry if this has been answered before.. first time owner of the Wii u system.

Tied to account and account is tied to hardware. If you change hardware you lose game, if you change account you lose game also. It's Nintendo afterall xD

If you do for some reason need to move your account you can call Nintendo Customer service and supposedly they will move it over to another console.

For me personally this is still unacceptable. I won't buy any Wii U digital content until I know it is linked with my account and I can restore it to any Wii U.

Well I assume the previous owner still knows the password and the account is tied to his email. If it was me I'd just start fresh.

Do you still have the piece of paper with the download code for Zelda? If it's tied to the hardware call Nintendo and see what they can do. Just not sure if honesty will get you anywhere, or a made up story where your daughter formatted your Wii U memory :p and since you've created another Nintendo network ID :D

Teancum: Yeah it sucks, I haven't purchased any content myself apart from the stuff I already had from the regular Wii Shop, pretty much Super Mario Bros.
