I have a nintendo wii u and a few months ago I noticed that the power led wasn't on. So I unplugged it and plugged it back in, same thing. I turned it on and it wasn't turning on at all. I'm not sure if it's bricked or not. hopefully not, but i want to know what you guys think.

silly question on my part: have you checked the mains fuse to the transformer?
even do a continuity test on it?
if possible, borrow another mains transformer before you go any deeper. (it's also possible an internal fuse has blown?)
    ...
had a normal wii do the same, left it on a standby mode, and the fuse went a week later, shouldn't have done, but there it is.
not used standby since, fire hazard waiting to happen...:?

What country? Depending on the country there may be a fuse in the cord, or in the power brick.

Take it to a store and ask them to test it.

Test the psu with a multimeter.

wiiu teardown: if you're not certain as to the next move, CONSULT a trained professional in your area, or get in touch with nintendo about the issue if the console is still under manufacturer warranty.
DON'T do anything unless you're sure.
if not, look in your telephone directory for electronic repairs if nintendo won't pick up the tab.

warranty is meant to cover any non user related faults....if it just up and died that's not your fault unless you did something you wasn't meant to like washed it in the bath

If warranty period is not over they are responsible for any non user related hardware failures.

i kinda opened the system already too, so that voids the warranty also right?

    *facepalm* Yes it is.
If Wii U does not have a warranty sticker maybe they won't be able to see that.

just take the console with you to a second hand shop and ask if they will test it for you with one of their power supplies....yeah some shops will probably be snotty and not let you, but i imagine most would probably have no issue with it

also it would probably be best if you just say something like your friend gave you it as he lost the power supply, but you just want to make sure its all working before you buy a new power supply.....saying stuff like its broken on my power supply would probably make them more paranoid in case it brakes their power supply :p
