Its awful, he should pay me to get that thing in my living room... Eh? last time I look the wii was $250.
Nintendo is charging you for Wii Sports. The japanese system with exchange rate is around $205-$210 at launch. Wii launched the same price in japan as every other nintendo system which in turn retailed for $200 in NA. So again, Nintendo is charging you for Wii Sports (it's not free).
Yeah I know, but in my opinion wii sports is not that far from the typical demo disc most consoles come with. Ergo, is the Wii what costs $250
Again. The Wii in japan retails for around $200. As well the price is the same as the NES/SNES/N64/GAMECUBE launched at in japan. Which in turn in the USA they launched at $200 US. Demo like or half ass don't count. You're paying for Wii Sports. The wii is $200. If it was not included you can bet your ass Wii would be $200.
Grow up dude. You're just a hater. Yes it is worth it. It's a damn fine and FUN system and last I checked these were video GAMES, played for FUN.
Why are you jumping on him for saying the Wii isn't worth 200$? Since when can't he have a different opinion than you? In my opinion the Wii isn't worth 200$ to me either. It may be for other people and that's fine. But for me I'd rather spend 200$ or 250$ on something I'd get more enjoyment from.
The topic is about someone selling a custom moded Wii for $1k on ebay. In his opinion $200 is not worth the price, Thus $1k to him is a total rip off. I can agree with you on other topics (come on, I massively butted heads with him when he started posting around here) but for this topic he is not posting off topic.
There's a $5000 Wii in Nintendo store in Rockerfeller Plaza, NY.... http://gonintendo.com/?p=30739 Doesn't say it's not for sale, so assume pimping dudes can walk in and buy it....
I'm not specifically jumping on him, I just think it's a bit of a horrendously immature statement - like someone who sits in the corner shouting 'your mum' jokes in the corner of the room at every opportunity. I suppose, respectfully, the Wii isn't actually worth $200 regarding the cost in parts, but that's a bit like saying your car isn't worth the price you pay for it when it's scrapped - quite a lot of money is spent in development costs and nonesuch. In fact, I'm impressed at how well planned the Wii was in comparison to other consoles on the market due to N making money on each one. That's common business sense for you.
