I got a Wii earlier and dont want to run a LAN cable through 2 rooms so i was wondering if there was a WLAN adapter being sold? Thanks, Will
there's the Nintedo wi-fi usb connector... simply install the driver, plug in your computer, setup your wii in seconds, and you have wireless internet for your wii and the DS http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/fr_na/onlineUSB.jsp I'm using it and works very well !
Yeah, you don't have to use the Nintendo rebranded Buffalo adaptor above -- it can be any wi-fi USB connector, just try to get 802.11b/g compatibility.
that's what i forgot to mention, you dont NEED the nintendo adaptor, but that's what I use and works great and is very simple to set up
Yeah the Wii, but the DS only work with the crappy-ass WEP, which is almost as having no security at all...
Which totally SUCKS too, because I have my Wii set up to use the WPA PSK 2 whatever strongest protection with my router.. but I have to compromise security just to be able to play online with my DS. But even after changing to WEP settings, I can't connect, so no matter what, no DS wi-fi. :crying: DS using WEP only is most likely due to that being the most widely used security type in 2004, when the original DS came out.. Hopefully, the successor to the DS will have support for all the security types that Wii does.
I dont even know if WPA existed at the time, plus theres also what taucias said, since WPA is a 128bit encryption in most cases. What? theres no ethernet socket built-in? and I've to buy an adapter? fuck you nintendoOH:
Well i can't get wireless working on my Wii using the usb wifi stick i have and my router doesn't seem to be compatible with DS wifi also bloody fantastic.
The DS doesn't find the router and when i searched google there were a few posts complaining about it not being compatible so
