I posted this originally in the Xbox 360 forum but apparently it was the wrong one. This is my plan: 1. Purchase a good working 360 Jasper. 2. Have it Jtag'd. Cheap to have done locally. 3. Put in a WD Scorpio 320gb Hdd. I have InsaneNutters tutorial and all the necessary files. 4. Use NXE2God to copy games from DVD's to the Hdd. Does this work properly? That's my plan. Also does the Xbox 360 use a similar file system as the original Xbox? And what's the easiest way to transfer files to it, I use Ftp with the original Xbox?
You need an older 360 (blades dash) to use the JTAG hack, otherwise you have the option of RGH or R-JTAG, depending on dashboard version. You can use _any_ size HDD upon installing the hack (whichever flavor really), so you don't have to limit yourself to anyone size, unless of course you wish to have 320gb HDD. You can rip the games as normal, as if you were copying them to the HDD for the purpose of loading time reduction, and then you can use NXE2GOD for allowing them to run without the disc, yes. Assuming you own the original disc, don't wanna just rent a game from BlockBuster or whatever and then return it. Because that would be illegal Good luck with the project.
Yeah, JTAG able Jasper's aren't cheap at all. This might be a good plan but it's going to be expensive if you rely upon a JTAG'd jasper.
I would suggest getting a Slim and having an RGH mod done to it. It's also a lot easily to use a larger hard drive on the slims as well.
I would go for slim me too. RGH2 on FAT console is a little bit unreliable and so if you cannot do RGH1, you'd have to go for R-JTAG which is more expensive. RGH2 is much more stable on slim consoles. Slim have less chances of RRoD and will save you a little bit on the electricity bill compared to a Jasper. Plus I would be tempted to say that Slim consoles are more available than FAT on the used market.
I'd probably agree with that and the price difference isn't too bad either at the moment. Shame you're not based in the UK, as I'm looking to sell mine at the moment.
RJTAG and RGH2 with a CR3 Pro (which is easiest to get good boot times with) are the same price. But as said above, might as well get a slim over a phat if you are going to do that.
This is even better I can get a 1tb Hdd and once I have the Xbox 360 modded (which ever way works), and I can even put my original Xbox games on it?
Yeah you also wanna go ahead and install the hacked backwards compatibility files which are available pretty easily online (just removes any checks, so you can run games that are not "officially" supported...does not mean all will work however), XBins for sure, and you can run them with a file manager or FSD (Freestyle Dash). The stock dash would probably play them if converted to the correct format, but I have no idea how to do that.
