nope. I use one of the Japanese Action Replay carts and to be honest it's the only cart that works 100% of the time in the crappy poor quality Saturn cartridge port.

I think that means 'Yes, it probably will destroy your cartridge port, so you probably won't be able to use any other carts', or am I mistaken by it being 'the only cart that works' in your Saturn?

It shouldn't cause any harm under normal use. Be aware, though, that it's by EMS, so it's not the "real" Action Replay made by Datel.

I've had that one for a couple of years, and my Saturn has yet to explode. The board is filed down, unlike my Gameshark.

Basically the Saturn cartridge port is poor at best. Now I'm a BIG Saturn fan but even I can't say that it has a good cartridge port. EVERY Official Cartridge I own is a pain in the arse to get working, especially the 4MBIT RAM. Now my Pro Action Replay 2 (Karat version - licensed by Datel) is the only cartridge that will work in ANY Saturn first time round. I wonder why this is? The board sure doesn't look any thicker.

This is the one I use (or used, since I haven't turned on my Saturn in a year), and I've never had any problems with it.

the best way to preserve your Saturn's cart slot is what ever you shove in don't ever pull it out. Just leave it in there...

now problem solved - eh? what? you want to pull out the cart and use another one on regular basis? well then you just get your fingers cross and wish for the best - though usually don't work.... ^+++^
