Not sure if any of you guys could help me. I recently upgraded my PC to a AMD Phenom II x4 955 with a MSI 790FX board. Everything runs fine except when I try booting to windows 7 with my Blackmagic Intensity. It just locks up at the startup. I even tried leaving the card in and reformatting. Same thing happens.

I really don't want to sell this and buy the PVR just for this issue. But I'm kind of in a time crunch and need HD footage recorded soon.

    Thanks

AMD Phenom II x4 955 (OC)
    6Gb of 1600Mhz ram OCZ
    MSI 790FX-GD70
    Blackmagic Intensity
    Windows 7

Might be a driver issue... Can you get into safe mode?

Sometimes yes. I really don't know why it wouldn't boot if it ran on my old PC with windows 7. Would not boot with the drivers installed, or with it not installed.

Did you install from a freshly formatted hard drive? I've read lots of problems with the installer and all the solutions to do a clean install.

Did you format with the windows 7 installer??

I know it may be a silly question and the answer is probably going to be yes but when i freshly formatted my HDD using a 3rd party partitioning program i got errors left right and center when in windows 7 but then when i used windows to format i stopped getting errors.

I did everything that I read on forums and here. Thanks for everyones help I don't think that this will work. I upgraded BIOS, all drivers. Still nothing I'm either going to have to use my old pc or sell this and get the HD PVR.

Quick suggestion if you've not already tried.

Have you tried a bare setup of your system with only the basic parts including using only 1 stick of ram to be able to at least start and use your system to see if that helps and if it does just keep on adding everything else to see if anything you then add gives you the problem you had before then you'll know whats bad.

Yes I have tried that. It is the card. Not the ram graphics card or anything.
