    *excuse the long post *
So for the last few months i've had my comp running windows 7 and another running XP both connected to a wireless G router. About a week or so ago i upgraded the other comp to windows 7 and had set up shared files/folders which worked fine allowing me to see everything on both computers and it allowed me to see the two comps on my xbox and stream music...etc to it.

Now yesterday i decided to re-install window 7 on my comp so i could make space for a dual boot with fedora but now i can't seem to get my computer (the windows part) to show up in the network on the 360 and on the other computer nor can i see the 360 and other computer within the network on my computer.

How the heck do i get both computers to see each other and be on the same network so i can also stream to my 360 as i haven't got much of a clue when it comes to networking?

Thanks for the link Phate, i wasn't trying to use the homegroup but rather tell windows which folders i wanted to share then see via the network/ My network places as i'd normally do on XP if thats any different to homegroup.

I now have both PC's showing up in the Network and and i can stream to my 360 via my PC but somehow when i try to access the PC in the spare from the one in my room it asks me for a username/password which i don't have as i never set one up plus it now doesn't show up on the 360.

Got the xbox 360 trouble sorted out for now and was able to see all videos/music in the library as well as stream them just fine.

I now have a new problem in windows 7 where i can see the secondary computer on the network , access it and see all shared folders but when i try to get into them i get the message that i don't have permissions.
