Wow, I didn't expect that. Demonstrations of concepts like these usually show stuff that looks awesome and radically different but you know you probably won't see it in your computer for a long time (if it ever happens).

I liked this one because it's more realistic, it shows something that actually can be applied in an OS.

For a fancy user interface? Switch to KDE ;).

    That's one crazy customized Windows 7. =P

A minimalist desktop view would be awesome though.

Has anyone noticed that as desktop operating systems get "fancier", they end up emulating the outdated ideal of a cluttered physical desk you need to rummage through? I predict that the final endpoint of this "Movie OS" evolution will be a complete rollback to pre-digital times. Bartleby the Scrivener would probably feel right at home using an iTablet 10 years from now. (or perhaps he wouldn't care to, but... ;-))

Well im quite adaptable to new enviroments so i can definetlty get used to something like this but i also understand why some people are stuck with XP And cant get used to anything else.... however it does seem quite ignorant... Im running a P4 At 2.66 GHZ With a gig of ram and a entry level GPU and i run windows 7 Just as well as XP... You also get a shiny new UI Bundled along with features such as Direct Access and more.

I'd take sides with the commentors on Youtube, this looks like 7 with a few tiny little 'improvements', some of which I thought should've been in the 7 RC already. Sorting is needlessly complicated when not in the detail view for example. But everything seen in the video could, at least imho, easily be patched into 7 without the need for 8.
Also, I find it weird that 'Futurama' pops up once he enters 'F' into that search bar, next to 'Future OS'. Also, when he rightclicks that program in the Taskbar he gets asked if he wants to 'Pin this program to the TaskNar'.
And why is such a video being posted by a guy named roxgod666?
    I call fake.

It is fan made. I don't think the purpose of the video to try and trick people into thinking it was legit.

That is a horribly organized system from a usability perspective.

Great concept fan made concept ... but its not Windows 8 at all. ATM windows 8 looks alot like Win 7, the only difference being that they did a find and replace swapping "7" for "8".

If windows 8 really ends up like this, i would switch permanently to linux. This just seems way too flashy and kinda unusable.
