Whenever I open a folder w/ a lot of video files in it, Explorer gets SLOOOOW. It's like it has to read all of the video files. How do I turn that "feature" off?
Is this XP with the sidebar on the left? if so it tends to give you the first frame in the sidebar. I'm sure theres an option to turn this off in tools -> folder options, but I'm not certain whereabouts exactly
yeah, just select folder options as list , there must be a registry hack to make all folders like that, if you know how, please tell me
if you are viewing files as thumbnails as opposed to details or icons, ect... that makes it take forever to load. Switch it off thumbnail view for that time being.
It happens to me all the time. Not just when i go into my picture folder or movie folder. Also when I use firefox and open up a lot of them in tabs to save them one by one my PC gets as fast as my pentium pro PC.
Yeah, same w/ madhatter. It's XP, but I've got an old school view. Just an explorer window w/ in small-icon view mode. Still chugs when I open the folder.
