well recently i had to type a paper and i needed to use word, however it kept giving me an error message saying "file not avaliable", so i got to microsofts page and it says that to solve the problem i needed to disable my virus scanner or uninstall it,so since the scanner has been expired for months and i have been disabling it, it suddenly started not working and would give me an error message saying i needed to unistalll and reinstall it. So i uninstal it and word works perfect again, however when i got to open up media player i get an error that says"internal application error" then the main page of outlook express does not display, but im still able to view my e-mail by hitting the tab button. So i decided to reinstall it to see what would happen, sure enogh word has the same problem again yet media player works fine and outlook displays its main page, but when i reinstalled it i got the error that it could not install properly, and it would not let me disable it. So i uninstall it again and word works fine, yet media player and outlook have the same problem. I got nortorn to sorta work again, but it required me to buy a new one to fully get it to work, my question is, is there a way to solver this problem , since i dont feel like buying a new copy of norton.

At the risk of looking foolish, have you tried rebooting? A lot of times, programs not behaving properly is a sign that a memory leak has sprung.

Um...I meant rebooting as in powercycling your computer.

Uninstall Media Player and then re-install it. Could just be corrupt files.
