There is a way around installing the "final" version over the beta, if like me you wanted to try it ages ago. If anyone wants to know how, let me know! It's not illegal or anything, its just a registry hack. Saves having to uninstall the beta to get the final on there.
I think i'll wait a while before installing SP2 , there are bound to be flaws in it not to mention gaming performance drop arround 10% with SP2 :smt022
Security From what I hear it's the usual microsoft affair (fix some security holes open other gaping ones)
I've been running it for a little over a week now it seems (it was released on MSDN before the public release - same version though) and I haven't really had any problems with it. I axed the Windows Firewall, which is the thing that was supposed to 'break' so many applications, as I'm already running ZoneAlarm and it works just fine for me. I must say, I like the little improvements, such as the popup and active content blockers in IE, as well as the slightly naggy warning that comes up when my antivirus is out of date.
GSL. How do you turn that shield off at the system tray? Mine keeps on popping up on how I need this and that.
That's the Windows Security Bastard, err, CENTER, and I get it too. I haven't really messed with trying to turn it off, as all it really does for me is just bother me when my antivirus definitions are out of date, something I'd rather be bothered with every week than not know about.
