Hey all After reading a thread here, about vista, and someone mentioning xp themes. It started the gears in my head turning, and suddenly i wanted a new xp theme. I've downloaded the Zune theme, and am liking it a bit, but I'm wondering, other than using desktopx/windowsblinds...is there any other way to get custom xp themes, without the addition of extra software? I found a dll on softpedia, which suposidly allows it to use all exsisting themexp themes, however I'm unsure of this. Also, is it possible to take a theme, and customize it myself, as to say, make the tool bar, a custom color etc? Ryan
The uxtheme.dll patcher on softpedia works quite well. There are stacks and stacks of great themes over at www.deviantart.com
I use styleXP for my themes. Got a very nice Mac one running at the moment. Very clean (I like white) and light looking. It also adds transparencies to what ever you want. Yakumo
I installed StyleXP and then uninstalled it, and I can still use different themes. If I were you, though, I'd just use the patcher. I don't really care for many of the themes included. As stated, deviantart is a great place to get themes. Do not get them from themeXP, as each and every one of their files wants to install some spyware shit on your computer when you download, and it won't let you extract the files without doing so.
