Wipeout, f-zero type games on the PC

Been checking out video's of Wipeout HD as well as F-zero GX (i loved that game) and i'm wondering if there is any game simmiliar to those on the PC i.e futuristic space racing. The only game i can think thats kinda simmilar is Audiosurf which i have and it is good but thats not particularly the same kinda game as wipeout or f-zero.

I seem to remember there was one around 1997 - that is, a futuristic racing game for the PC. All I remember about it was that the vehicles were very shiny. The graphics were very good for the time. Does anybody know the game I'm talking about?

My vote would be for Star Wars: Pod Racer, incidentally. The PC version is the best.

wipEout XL/2097 was released in a few forms for the PC, but needs a patch to run on modern computer or it runs too fast.

 

Does it have to include hovercraft? Rollcage 1 and 2 both made it to the PC I believe.

 

QFT. Off topic, wasnt there some type of expansion for F-zero X that released for 64DD??? If so, does anyone know if its dumped/emulated??

I used to play Dethkarz accelerated on my Voodoo3 I don't know if it still holds up though.

 

Dethkarz works fine on WinXP with my ATI Radeon 9600 graphics card. It's still a great game todays.

I agree Dethkarz today is a great game to play.

Other futuristic racing games don't mentioned are:

Extreme G2 (yes has PC version)
Powerdrome (2005-2006 release I think)
